Titled, “Lakshmi”, the collection was  an artistic expression that merges the culture and art forms of Rajasthan. There were slinky dresses, sarongs, shararas, fluid skirts with side pockets worn with moulded, metallic blouses, printed corset cholis with elegantly embellished saris and boleros teamed with palazzos.

Men’s wear line was in printed stoles,kurtas,tunics, shirt and trousers

Key Features

Bold motifs from the region in natural dyes with the Kalamkari and Ajrakh craft adorning the ensembles

Visions of grand lotus blossoms, birds, enchanted gardens and Mughal war zones with horses were hand blocked

The embellishments were a mélange of layered, metallic embroidery on prints and solid colours like neutrals, henna and earthy shades that creatively used thread and mirror work

Janhvi Kapoor in a ruby red embroidered lehenga worn with a moulded backless choli and embellished dupatta.

“We tried to keep the looks as a fusion of tradition and modernity, by bringing in rich crafts and natural dyes. It was an amazing experience, bringing my vision of ‘Lakshmi’ to life at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week.”
