Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 Opens with Grand Celebration in New Delhi

FDCI and Hyundai unveil the 18th edition of India Couture Week, spotlighting top Indian designers and the debut of the all-electric Creta.

Beneath the opulent ceilings of the Taj Palace, the 18th edition of Hyundai India Couture Week was officially unveiled — an elegant afternoon where India’s finest couturiers, cultural tastemakers, and design visionaries came together to celebrate the art of fashion and the future of innovation.

Presented by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in collaboration with Hyundai Motor India and Reliance Brands, this year’s couture week opened with grandeur at Taj Palace, New Delhi.

Now in its third consecutive year as title sponsor, Hyundai marked the occasion with the reveal of its upcoming Creta Electric — a bold stride toward sustainable luxury. The announcement wasn’t just about a car; it underscored a broader idea — that great design today isn’t limited to couture, but extends to the way we move, live, and shape the world around us.

A Platform That Continues to Redefine Indian Luxury

FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi opened the gathering with a note of warmth and clarity, reflecting on the evolution of India Couture Week as a platform that has consistently raised the bar for homegrown excellence.

“Hyundai India Couture Week remains the most anticipated showcase of couture in the country. We’re proud of the creative partnerships we’ve built over the years, and grateful to the designers whose artistry defines the identity of this platform,” he said.

Representing Hyundai Motor India, Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, added:

“India Couture Week is a celebration of vision, detail, and legacy — values that resonate deeply with us at Hyundai. The debut of the Creta Electric during this week underscores our belief that innovation must be aspirational, rooted in culture, and created with intent.”

A Glimpse of What Lies Ahead on the Runway

One of the afternoon’s most captivating moments was a live presentation — a model-led preview that revealed a signature look from each participating couturier. Each ensemble offered a first glimpse into the collections that will take center stage over the coming week.

This year’s lineup features some of the country’s most celebrated designers:
Manish Malhotra, JJ Valaya, Rohit Bal, Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Amit Aggarwal, Falguni Shane Peacock, Rahul Mishra, Shantnu & Nikhil, Suneet Varma, Rimzim Dadu, Jayanti Reddy, Rose Room by Isha Jajodia, and Aisha Rao.

Each brings a distinctive voice to the world of Indian couture — from legacy craftsmanship to bold experimentation — reflecting a landscape where tradition and reinvention exist in elegant harmony.

Where Fashion and Technology Walk Hand in Hand

The presence of the Hyundai Creta EV signals more than just an automotive debut. It represents the growing intersection of fashion, mobility, and mindful innovation — a space where design is no longer confined to fabric, but flows into every aspect of lifestyle and identity.

With Grey Goose Altius and Kohler joining as experience partners, this year’s edition carries a sensorial depth — a fully immersive showcase that moves beyond fashion and into a curated world of luxury.

Why This Edition Matters

Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 isn’t just a stage for beautiful garments. It’s a reflection of where India stands in the global luxury conversation — confident, creative, and forward-looking. With legacy names sharing the spotlight with new ideas, and the runway extending into unexpected spaces like automotive design, this season is about more than couture. It’s about what comes next.
