JJ Valaya to Close Hyundai India Couture Week 2025
This July, as Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 draws to a close, all eyes will be on the runway as Valaya takes his rightful place in the spotlight — closing the 18th edition with a collection that’s poised to be nothing short of magnificent.
Presented by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in collaboration with Reliance Brands, this year’s finale holds added meaning. Not only does it mark another chapter in the ongoing partnership with Hyundai, but it also coincides with a personal milestone for the couturier: 33 years of JJ Valaya — a name that has become synonymous with grandeur, legacy, and storytelling through thread.
Valaya is no stranger to spectacle. His shows have always been more than fashion—they are carefully orchestrated worlds of craft, history, and emotion. This one promises to be no different. Known for his command of regal silhouettes, rich embroidery, and timeless aesthetics, Valaya will offer a glimpse into a vision that is both rooted and current — an ode to India’s heritage and its ever-evolving identity in global couture.
Speaking on the occasion, Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director & COO of Hyundai Motor India, shared,
“This is our third year supporting India Couture Week, and each edition deepens our commitment to celebrating India’s creative and cultural legacy. This year, alongside showcasing the new Hyundai CRETA Electric, we’re proud to be part of a moment that honours one of the most iconic names in Indian fashion. JJ Valaya’s work has always balanced tradition with modernity — just as we aim to do in design and mobility.”
For FDCI, the closing act is more than just a show — it’s a statement.
Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, remarked,
“Having JJ Valaya close the week feels perfectly aligned. His sense of narrative, craftsmanship, and ability to elevate Indian couture has always stood apart. There’s no better designer to bring this edition to its crescendo.”
The couturier JJ Valaya added —
“We’re celebrating 33 years of JJ Valaya. What better way to mark the journey than through a collection that speaks of where we’ve been and where we’re headed. I’m grateful to FDCI and Hyundai for this platform. It’s going to be a show from the heart.”
The grand finale will take place on July 30, 2025, wrapping up a week of craftsmanship, creativity, and couture — and reminding us once again that some names, and some legacies, don’t just belong on the runway. They belong to time.
