We went to La Tarté on a day I wasn’t really up for stepping out. Slight cold, that low energy where you’re not sure if food will even appeal to you.
But the evening turned out very differently.
We met the mother–daughter duo, Beeban Arora and Raayyaana Arora, and that interaction stayed with me through the entire visit. It didn’t feel like a formal introduction—just a natural conversation, the kind that makes you instantly more comfortable in a space.
The place itself feels lived-in in a nice way. Not overly styled, not trying to be anything beyond what it is. There are soft floral touches, close seating, and an energy that feels personal rather than curated.
Since I wasn’t feeling great, I wasn’t even thinking about ordering anything specific. And then came a cup of fresh, homemade masala chai. It wasn’t presented as something special, but it honestly was. Warm, balanced, and exactly what I needed at that moment. That one gesture changed the tone of the whole experience for me.

We kept things light with the food. Burrata salad—fresh and clean. Quinoa salad that actually felt complete and not just something added for the sake of it. The burrito bowl was filling without being too much. Alongside that, fresh juices and a mango smoothie kept everything easy and refreshing.

We also tried a white pasta with a glass of rosé. It was one of those combinations that just works without needing explanation—the pasta creamy but not heavy, and the rosé light enough to balance it out. Easy, unforced, and enjoyable.

And then the tres leches. Soft, soaked just right, and not overly sweet—the kind you just enjoy.
What I noticed through it all was how naturally everything came together. Nothing felt staged or overdone. Even the activity around—the live stations, people engaging, conversations happening—it all blended into the background rather than becoming a distraction.

It’s not a place you go to for a “scene.”
It’s one you remember because of how you were treated while you were there. And sometimes, that’s more than enough.
