At Bharat Tex 2026, Shivan & Narresh unveiled their latest home textile collection in collaboration with myTrident, embracing this cultural shift with remarkable ease. Inspired by the event’s overarching theme, Expression of Living, the collection presents home textiles as collectible works of art, bringing the designers’ globally celebrated print language beyond fashion and into contemporary interiors.

For Narresh, however, the transition feels entirely natural.

“It seems simple today because it is backed by years of work,” he says. “There is already a design system that exists in our minds. When a colour appears, we instinctively know whether it belongs because those design principles have evolved over time.”

That confidence has been built not only through years of creative exploration but also through an ongoing dialogue with the people who wear—and now live with—their designs.

“Our consumers understand our design language, and we understand them. This is the second time we’re doing a home collection, so we now have valuable market feedback. We take that into account while continuing to push our own creative agenda. It’s a continuous cycle.”

Unlike many design projects that begin with a blank canvas, every Shivan & Narresh collection starts by revisiting their extensive archive of prints, allowing familiar ideas to evolve into something entirely new.

“We deep dive into our print library,” says Shivan. “The first step is understanding the season. Since the collection launches during the transition from summer into the festive months, the colour story has to reflect that. Softer sky blues feel right for July and August, while richer, celebratory palettes emerge as we move closer to the festive season.”

Once the seasonal palette is established, the archive becomes a playground for experimentation. Landscapes become intricate motifs, botanical illustrations evolve into contemporary compositions, and signature prints are thoughtfully adapted for home textiles. The result is a collection that feels unmistakably Shivan & Narresh while blending effortlessly into today’s expressive living spaces.

Art has always been the foundation of the duo’s creative process.

“We call these art spaces because art has always been where our collections begin,” they explain. Every fashion collection starts with an artistic reference before gradually evolving into the brand’s distinctive visual language. Their recent runway collection, inspired by Henri Matisse, is one such example, where fine art became the starting point for an entirely original creative expression.

That philosophy extends naturally into the home.

For Shivan & Narresh, every home reflects the individuality of the people who inhabit it, much like a work of art reflects the perspective of its creator. No two homes are ever truly alike, and that uniqueness is precisely what gives a space its character.

As our conversation shifts to the changing aesthetics of contemporary interiors, Shivan is quick to point out how dramatically personal taste has evolved.

“I’m so glad we’re moving beyond those Pinterest-inspired white houses,” he says with a smile. “Everything was beige, everything was white. Those spaces often felt artless. They lacked personality. Today people are experimenting again, and that’s exciting to see.”

His observation perfectly captures the direction of contemporary luxury. Today’s interiors are less about achieving perfection and more about expressing personality. Fashion has played an important role in that evolution, encouraging people to embrace colour, narrative and individuality within their homes instead of following a formula.

Inspired by Bharat Tex 2026’s theme, Expression of Living, the collection reflects this changing mindset. It celebrates the home as a deeply personal space shaped by identity, culture and emotion, while positioning luxury home textiles as collectible design pieces that go far beyond functionality.

Continuing their creative journey into interiors, Shivan & Narresh translate their globally recognised repertoire of collectible art prints into thoughtfully designed home textiles. Signature designs such as Botaneye, inspired by botanical forms and nature; Sky Hututi, influenced by Korean artistic motifs; Blanco Juno, drawing from the timeless aesthetics of Japanese ukiyo-e; Jaiscape, celebrating the architectural grandeur of Jaisalmer; Saun, inspired by Finnish sauna culture and wellness; and Iconomash, a vibrant abstract composition reflecting the duo’s iconic holiday-inspired visual language, each bring a distinctive artistic perspective to contemporary living.

When asked to describe the collection in just a few words, Narresh answers without hesitation.

“Eclectic art.”
