A glamorous afternoon of beauty, discovery and personalised makeovers at Delhi’s newest luxury beauty destination
There is something different about walking into a beauty store when you are encouraged to stop, explore and let someone else take over for a while. At the new Nykaa Luxe at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, that is exactly the feeling.
Spread across 5,500 sq. ft., the new space feels less like a traditional beauty counter and more like a playground for beauty discovery. Luxury, skincare, makeup, fragrance and haircare come together in a setting designed to make browsing feel effortless — and, importantly, personal.
I experienced that first-hand when the beauty team gave me a makeover, creating a glamorous look that felt polished without being overdone. It was one of those experiences that reminded me that beauty shopping can be about more than choosing a product from a shelf. Having experts understand what suits you, guide you through the options and then transform the ideas into a finished look makes the experience considerably more engaging.
The space brings together dedicated areas for some of the world’s most recognisable beauty names, including Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Charlotte Tilbury, M.A.C, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clinique and Laneige. There is also an extensive edit of contemporary favourites across makeup, skincare, fragrance and haircare, making it easy to move from familiar names to something completely new.
For makeup lovers, the selection ranges from Rare Beauty, Huda Beauty and NARS to Benefit Cosmetics, Bobbi Brown, Too Faced, Milk Makeup and e.l.f. Cosmetics. The skincare offering spans K-beauty, J-beauty, derma and luxury formulations, while fragrance has its own strong presence, with houses such as Tom Ford, Jo Malone London, Prada, Bvlgari, Maison Margiela and Versace.
But what stays with you is not simply the number of brands. It is the opportunity to try, ask, compare and discover. Beauty advisors are on hand for makeovers and skin consultations, while dedicated consultation areas allow customers to experiment with products. Gifting, engraving and a fragrance discovery service add further layers of personalisation.
The opening also drew the attention of actor Sharvari Wagh, who was among the guests at the new Nykaa Luxe destination. Her presence added a touch of glamour to the launch, reflecting the growing intersection of beauty, fashion and popular culture in India’s premium retail landscape.
For me, however, the highlight was simpler: sitting down for the makeover and seeing the final look come together. In an increasingly digital beauty world, there is something wonderfully satisfying about being able to touch, test, ask questions and have someone create a look specifically for you.
That may ultimately be the appeal of this new destination. It is not only about luxury beauty on display; it is about making the experience of discovering it feel memorable.
