India's first 'Schools Outdoor Fest' concludes in Dehradun: Wynberg Allen School wins Adventure Leader Trophy

Inter school Adventure Challenge  

India’s (and perhaps world’s) first of its kind adventure festival ‘Schools Outdoor Festival’ cocluded recently.

Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie won the inaugural ‘NungshiTashiOutdoor Leader Challenge Cup’.

Eight schools participated in this 3- day adventure fest from 17- 19 May. Each team consisted of five students and teams competed as ‘all boys’, ‘all girls’ and ‘mixed’ teams. The event was hosted by the world’s first Explorers Grand Slam sisters Nungshi and Tashi Thapa Malik at their adventure institute named Outdoor Leadership School.

Activities involved

Obstacle course, wall climbing, tent pitching, tying knots and lashes, adventure quiz, mission briefing and day-night trek cum navigation of approx. 20 km in hilly terrain in general area Purkal-Kimari-Galogi Hydro Power station. In addition, several life skills sessions were also conducted such as First Aid and wilderness survival tips.

Wynberg Allen, APS Clement Town, Horizon School, APS Birpur, Doon Heritage School, Moravian School, Pestalozzi World, and Purkal Youth Development Society.

 Moravian School –  First Runners up

APS Clement Town –Second Runners up third.
