Instituto Cervantes is excited to unveil an exceptional film festival at the India International Centre, taking place from June 11 to July 1, 2024. This festival will feature six remarkable films that honor Spain’s most renowned film directors, providing a comprehensive overview of classic Spanish cinema.
“Celebrating Iconic Spanish Film Directors is a take on the bedrock of Spanish cinema. Directors like Buñuel, Berlanga, Saura, Medem, and Fernando Fernán Gómez truly are, each one on its own terms, giants of Spanish cinema. By putting them together in their best films we get an outstanding panoramic view of classic Spanish cinema that keeps constantly reinventing itself,” rejoices Oscar Pujol, Director of Instituto Cervantes.

A roundtable discussion titled ‘Spotlight on Spanish Cinema: Icons and Masters’ will be held on June 18 at 6:30 PM. This discussion will feature prominent film scholars and critics, offering deep insights into the contributions and legacies of these legendary directors.
