Gauri & Nainika Launch their first-ever Indian Collection: A New Chapter in Couture

After nearly two decades of defining Western couture with their signature romance and sculptural silhouettes, Gauri & Nainika unveil their first Indian wear collection—a capsule that bridges heritage with modern elegance.

An Indian Edit with a Global Lens

This new line is not about leaving their past behind; it’s about expanding their vision. Familiar Indian silhouettes—sarees, lehengas, angrakhas—are reinterpreted with the house’s timeless codes: volume, lightness, and feminine poise. The result is Indian couture reimagined for the contemporary woman—less ornate, more considered, and deeply personal.

Prints and Craft as Storytelling

Prints set the tone for this collection. Expect chinoiserie-inspired motifs in lush, unexpected hues, a moody toile in tonal reds and greens that hints at quiet drama, and the return of the house-favourite Rose Creeper across versatile crossover pieces. Watercolour-style wildflower prints add a softness that feels modern yet nostalgic.

Each garment carries fine Indian craftsmanship—zardozi, aari, and delicate threadwork—woven with European influences, from 18th-century French embroidery to vintage jewel motifs. Gowns with angrakha-inspired necklines, pre-draped sarees in featherlight chiffon and organza, and voluminous lehengas paired with cropped blouses—all reflect a seamless dialogue between two worlds.

Poetry in Soft Power

The soirée welcomed the crème of the fashion world—Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, graced the evening alongside celebrated couturiers Rahul Khanna, Rohit Gandhi, and Suneet Varma.

This is Indian wear with intention. Embroidery whispers rather than overwhelms. Voluminous tulle skirts recall the brand’s ballet-inspired legacy, while raw silk bodices and corseted peplum tops add structure without weight. The mood is feminine yet confident, dramatic yet restrained—perfect for modern weddings, destination soirées, and couture events.

A Collection True to the Brand’s DNA

“We are very excited to present an Indian collection for the first time. The collection is an extension of our brand’s DNA—light, romantic, feminine. We approached Indian silhouettes with the same philosophy we always have: a deep understanding of the female form. At first, it felt unfamiliar, but once we began, it flowed naturally. It was just about translating what we already knew into something new.” — Gauri & Nainika

“At 1 Magnolia Lane, we see florals as couture—crafted with detail, artistry, and emotion. Collaborating with Gauri & Nainika allowed us to bring together the worlds of flowers and fashion, creating an experience that feels timeless, feminine, and celebratory.” — Anshul Chawla

Why This Collection Matters

This capsule marks more than a launch—it signals a shift in how Indian couture can be imagined: light, fluid, and wearable without losing its grandeur. For Gauri & Nainika, it’s not a reinvention but a natural evolution—a new way to celebrate femininity, heritage, and modern Indian luxury.
