Anja Falk’s Immersive Art Exhibition in Delhi
The opening of Where the City Meets Wilderness, German artist Anja Falk’s first solo exhibition in India, unfolded at Bikaner House with an energy that felt both intimate and expansive. The gallery drew an engaged mix of art lovers, diplomats, curators, and cultural voices, all gathering to experience Falk’s atmospheric interpretations of urban wilderness.

The evening was attended by Mr. Enzweiler, Deputy Chief of Mission at the German Embassy in New Delhi, along with Padma Bhushan awardees Dr. Raja Radha Reddy and Dr. Kaushalya Reddy. Curated and coordinated by global luxury brand consultant Dr. Madhavi Advani, the event reflected a meaningful cultural exchange between India and Germany, resonating through both presence and patronage.

Falk’s paintings move fluidly between Delhi and Europe, drawing from her immersive explorations of the capital’s green sanctuaries — Sanjay Van, Buddha Jayanti Park, and the Hauz Khas Forest — as well as landscapes from her recent travels across European terrains. These are spaces often overlooked in the rhythm of city life, yet her work renders them with a poetic stillness, layering texture, memory, and movement.

As the evening progressed, conversations lingered around her themes of belonging, transition, and the fragile balance between urban expansion and natural preservation. Guests stayed well beyond the formal opening, engaging with the artist, reflecting on the work, and absorbing the layered narratives within each composition.

Where the City Meets Wilderness has already marked its place as a significant moment on Delhi’s current art calendar — not just as an exhibition, but as a quiet reminder of the green worlds that exist alongside our concrete ones.
