Veteran actor and Padma Bhushan awardee Anupam Kher has expanded his prestigious acting institute, Actor Prepares, with the launch of a new centre in Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, extending one of India’s most respected platforms for professional actor training to the heart of the capital.
Founded in Mumbai in 2005, Actor Prepares has earned a reputation as a benchmark in acting education, known for its rigorous, industry-led methodology and its rare distinction of being helmed by a globally active film actor. The institute’s expansion to Delhi reflects a growing demand for serious, world-class acting training among the city’s next generation of performers.
Speaking on the occasion, Anupam Kher described Delhi as a city shaped by cultural depth, performance traditions, and creative ambition. The new centre is envisioned as a space where aspiring actors can access structured, high-calibre training guided by accomplished faculty, bridging the gap between classroom craft and professional performance.
The Delhi launch was inaugurated by acclaimed actor, writer, and director Boman Irani, who underscored the importance of disciplined training environments in cultivating authenticity, artistic confidence, and long-term sustainability in an increasingly competitive entertainment landscape.
Over the years, Actor Prepares has mentored some of the most recognisable names in Indian cinema, including Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Abhishek Bachchan, and Preity Zinta, reinforcing its standing as a formative institution for serious acting talent.
The New Delhi centre will offer a curated suite of professional programmes, including full-length acting courses, advanced on-camera performance modules, and specialised workshops in voice, movement, and audition technique.
