There are cities you visit, and then there is Delhi — a city you taste, remember, and carry with you. This February, that enduring love story returns to the table as Dilli 6 – Ishq-e-Dilli marks its 16th edition at Edesia, inside Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla.
From 16th February to 1st March, the festival moves beyond the idea of Valentine’s romance and leans into something more rooted — the timeless bond between Delhi and its food. Because in this city, love has always been expressed through flavour.
For over fifteen years, Ishq-e-Dilli has returned like a familiar refrain, celebrating recipes that have travelled through generations. This edition continues that legacy, drawing inspiration from the spirited lanes and old kitchens of Purani Dilli. Think of the kind of food that demands you slow down — not because it is elaborate, but because it carries memory.
The chaat arrives first, bright and nostalgic. Patta chaat, papdi chaat, bhalla chaat — each bite echoing the chaos and comfort of Chandni Chowk. Then come the deeper, slower notes: mutton nihari simmered to tenderness, fragrant chicken korma, paneer pakeeza rich yet balanced, platters of kebabs, and biryani that carries the warmth of tradition in every spoonful. The setting may be refined, but the soul of the food remains reassuringly unchanged.
Inside Edesia, the mood mirrors the menu — warm lighting, understated décor with gentle heritage accents, and soft instrumental strains that hum in the background. It feels less like a themed event and more like an evening spent revisiting a part of the city you may not have walked through in years, yet still know by heart.
