Where Stories Begin

ELEPHANTA FILMS LAUNCHES ‘DUFFER’, MARKING THE BEGINNING OF A LARGER CONTENT VISION

“We have consciously chosen to reveal very little at this stage. The idea is to let curiosity build organically and allow audiences to engage with the film in their own way. Sometimes, what you don’t show becomes far more powerful than what you do.” — Komal Verma, Producer, Elephanta Films

Beneath a cool breeze and a moonlit, starlit sky at Jim Corbett National Park, Duffer was unveiled in a setting that felt instinctively right. There’s something about this place—you don’t encounter everything at once. You wait, you watch, and moments reveal themselves in their own time. That same feeling carried into the way the film was introduced.

It was here that Elephanta Films stepped into the Hindi film space, with the teaser poster of Duffer. Not as an over-explained launch, but as a beginning that clearly points to something larger taking shape.

From the conversations around it, it was evident that this isn’t just about one film. The studio is building a content slate that isn’t restricted by format, and storytelling that doesn’t feel the need to fit neatly into a single genre. Duffer becomes the first glimpse of that intent—a narrative designed to move beyond the obvious.

Even the poster followed that approach. It didn’t try to say too much. Instead, it held things back. And standing there, it didn’t feel like something was missing—it felt like something was being saved. That decision to not reveal everything at once seems central to how the studio wants to connect with its audience.

Backed by Komal Verma, Elephanta Films also confirmed that this is just the starting point. A pipeline of five upcoming projects is already in place, spanning multiple formats and thematic spaces—an early indication of a studio thinking well beyond a single release.

The film is directed by Nakul Dev, whose storytelling is known for its layered depth, now expanded to a more ambitious scale. The writing and creative direction are led by Suman Divya, bringing their distinct narrative voice and visual sensibility into the project.

More importantly, the unveiling of Duffer also marks the beginning of a larger roadmap. The team has outlined plans for five additional projects across genres and formats, reinforcing their intent to establish a strong, versatile presence across both long and short-form storytelling.

The choice of Jim Corbett as the setting feels closely tied to this idea. It mirrors a kind of discovery that doesn’t happen all at once, and Duffer seems to be following that same path. The makers have confirmed that the face reveal and further details will unfold in phases, with another announcement expected soon.

In that sense, Duffer doesn’t come across as a one-off launch. It feels like the start of a longer journey—for the film, and for Elephanta Films—a studio that, from this first step, appears more focused on building something steadily over time.
