Obsidian Presented by OPPO
Black takes on a different character when light hits it just right. With Obsidian, Namrata Joshipura explored the contrast between darkness and shine, pairing deep black with liquid metallics, glossy surfaces, and gilded embroidery. Her signature elongated jumpsuits led the collection, joined by sculpted eveningwear that balanced architectural lines with fluid movement.

Texture was just as important as silhouette. Metallic threadwork, three-dimensional embellishments, sculptural florals, and jewel-like finishes gave the pieces depth and dimension. Reflective surfaces caught the light as the models moved, while long, lean shapes offered an alternative to the traditional evening gown.

Joshipura described her vision as bold, with sculptural silhouettes, intricate embellishments, and textures that come alive under light. The show also marked OPPO’s first association with the fashion week, bringing fashion and technology together through a shared interest in design and self-expression.

Emerging Trends: What Caught Our Eye
What we loved about Obsidian was the attention to detail. From elongated jumpsuits to sculptural embellishments, the collection offered plenty of inspiration for evening dressing without feeling overdone. These are the four trends we’d take from the runway.
01 The Elongated Jumpsuit: We’d happily trade the usual evening gown for this long, streamlined silhouette. It feels polished, makes an impact, and offers a fresh way to dress for the evening.
02 Metallic Finishes: A little shine goes a long way. Joshipura’s glossy surfaces show how metallics can bring an all-black look to life without the need for extra color.
03 Sculptural Florals: These three-dimensional details caught our eye for their texture and artistry. They add interest to eveningwear while keeping the overall look sophisticated.
04 Structure and Flow: Sharp tailoring balanced with fluid movement is a combination we keep coming back to. It feels considered yet effortless, making it just as appealing beyond the runway.
