Anamika Khanna to Present the Inaugural Showcase on 23 July 2026
Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 Heads to Hyderabad for a Landmark Showcase at Falaknuma Palace
Anamika Khanna will inaugurate the first-ever edition of Hyundai India Couture Week outside Delhi, marking a defining moment for India’s premier couture platform.
Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 is set to make history as it travels beyond New Delhi for the first time. Presented in association with Nexxus New York and organised by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), this year’s edition will open with an inaugural showcase at the iconic Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad on July 23, 2026.
More than a change of venue, the move signals the evolving narrative of Indian couture—taking it beyond traditional runways and into destinations that celebrate the country’s architectural heritage and exceptional craftsmanship.
Perched above Hyderabad, Falaknuma Palace offers a spectacular setting for this milestone. Once the residence of the Nizam, the palace is synonymous with regal grandeur and timeless elegance, making it a natural backdrop for a showcase that honours India’s rich couture legacy while embracing its contemporary evolution.
Opening the landmark edition is celebrated couturier Anamika Khanna, whose work continues to redefine Indian couture through an effortless dialogue between heritage and modernity. Her latest collection is a poetic exploration of memory, identity and adornment, expressed through sculptural womenswear and menswear silhouettes, intricate embellishments and layered textures. At its heart lies a tribute to the women artisans whose hands have preserved India’s textile traditions across generations, transforming age-old craftsmanship into a contemporary language of luxury.
The showcase also reflects the shared philosophy of fashion and innovation. Hyundai’s continued association with India Couture Week reinforces its commitment to design excellence, creativity and human-centric innovation. As part of the presentation, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 will feature within the showcase, bringing together progressive mobility and couture through a shared appreciation for thoughtful design.
Commenting on the collaboration, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the partnership celebrates creativity, precision and innovation while strengthening Hyundai’s vision of becoming a lifestyle-led brand.
For the Fashion Design Council of India, taking India Couture Week beyond Delhi marks a significant milestone.
“This is a defining moment for Hyundai India Couture Week as we expand beyond the capital for the first time,” said Sunil Sethi, Chairman, FDCI. “Anamika Khanna’s work honours India’s craft traditions while continually pushing creative boundaries, making her the ideal designer to open this landmark edition.”
Sharing her thoughts, Anamika Khanna described inaugurating the 2026 edition as both an honour and an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary craftsmanship that defines Indian couture while presenting it through a contemporary lens.
Over the years, Hyundai India Couture Week has established itself as India’s foremost platform for luxury couture, bringing together leading designers, artisans, celebrities, buyers and fashion connoisseurs. Its expansion to Hyderabad reflects a broader vision—one that celebrates India’s cultural landmarks alongside its finest craftsmanship while extending the reach of Indian couture beyond the capital.
As couture unfolds within the magnificent surroundings of Falaknuma Palace, this inaugural showcase promises to be more than the opening of another fashion week. It marks the beginning of a new chapter, where heritage, innovation and contemporary design come together to shape the future of Indian couture on an extraordinary stage.
