CHARISMA OF CHIKANKARI Indian Spring Collection

A range of elegant Chikankari pieces ( kurtas, dresses, shirts, dupattas and saris) that depicts the rich and intricate history of the Awadh. The brand narrates stories through motifs and designs that celebrate the craft of Chikankari.

The highly skilled and elaborate hand embroidery technique of creating a unique chikankari garment involves a series of processes from cutting, printing, embroidery, washing and finishing which takes approximately about one to six months depending on the garment. The textural complexity, typical of the craft of Chikankari, stems from the combination and permutation of different stitches. The craft’s vocabulary is vast and each stitch has a part to play in different compositions, deeming it extremely demanding and arduous.

HIGHLIGHTS

Indigenous textiles, Indian motifs and prints reminiscent of Indian painted textile Chintz. This seasons offering, ‘Indian Spring’, is divided between three themes—handcrafted florals, fresh colours and a series of tone on tone textures to signify subtle romanticism. The collection includes classic pieces such as Kurtas and Dresses, Pants and Co-ordinate sets. To complement all of the garments are accessories from the brand that elevate the range.

Known for their integration of craft and functional aesthetics, Fabindia stays true to its roots by conceptualising Mughal floral motifs of Poppy Flowers, White Lillies, Champas and Marigolds through their signature Chikankari embroidery accents. Embracing the changing season, the palette of the Indian Spring Collection ranges from fresh pastels like mauve, gulab jal pink, dhanya yellow and sauf green to warm neutrals like kora beige and elaichi brown.

AVAILABILITY- Indian Spring collection is now available in stores across India as well as available on the Fabindia website.
