WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

International Woman’s Day is celebrated on March 8, across the globe but in true sense are women liberated? 

Education alone cannot give them the sense of security. In our society, women are still discriminated on gender basis and paid less at work place.Woman empowerment is a continuous process to give them the right to choose and work outside their home, have opportunity to make decision. This way, Women (rural or urban India) are not dependent on men. They can earn money to support their family by working through their abilities. Each individual is responsible for woman empowerment. Doing the bit, webelieve in promoting rural artisans, women empowerment and having more women strength as compared to men, starting from ourvendor/artisans/craftsmen. We encourage women to work and provide job opportunities to them so that they can independently earn their livelihood.We teach them new techniques so that they can accordingly upgrade their skills and are not stagnant in anyway. No country can achieve growth and sustainability until we have more economic women empowerment.

This year, my store Craft House completes 20 years and through this creative space not only I have learned and evolved, but have given a platform to many women to fulfill their aspirations and dreams. Craft House is a unique retail concept with its own distinct space, feel and an ambiance at The Metropolitan Hotel & Spa that showcases the best merchandise India has to offer to the world. Ithas developed a niche in the market with its quest for quality products and innovative style. It portrays several facets of exotic India and exhibits exquisite craftsmanship in a warm ambiance of trust and assurance. Craft House, having won the mandate and loyalty of visitors to India and discerning locals, launched and added in its portfolio, ‘Delhi Bazaar Craft House’, the exclusive Indian store at International Departure, Terminal  3 (T3) at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), Delhi and created more employment opportunities for women. We encourage woman to bring creativity, ideas and new ways to promote our business so that they develop a sense of confidence and belongingness to the workplace. A well planned working structure motivates and inspires woman to work better.There should be no lack of recognition,one should celebrate each other’s strength, and the organization helps to connect them to more people. They back each other up in meetings and take less experienced women for projects;this develops a leadership quality in them.For me having a friendly atmosphere not only encourages two-way communication, but is also very important for the growth of any employee or an institution.I am hopeful that in years to come also, am able to uplift, encourage, support and empower women.
