FDCI x LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK

FDCI to present JJ Valaya and Troy Costa at the upcoming join Phygital edition

The joint, phygital edition ofFDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week , will witness two stand-out, travel-inspired showcases by designers JJ Valaya and Troy Costa on 6th and 7th October respectively. While JJ Valaya will be ending Day 1 of the five-day fashion extravaganza virtually, Troy Costa will be presenting a Men’s Edit through a physical showcase at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

JJ Valaya’s virtual presentation will showcase the ‘Rumeli’ Festive Line of 2021 that will celebrate the designers refined maximalism into a celebration line in sync with the post pandemic dictat of timeless style. Rich fabrics, intricate details, inspired prints and timeless and much-loved embroideries define this season’s collection in all its glory as it transcends its journey blending Turkish elements with riches from the Balkans.

Emerging from our past reality of no travel, Troy Costa will present, AVIDO TOURISTA. A collection that is aimed to get the good times rolling. The clothes embody nonchalance even though the attitude is dressed up. The range is simple in cut but not in impact. It is an extroverts’ collection, bare and very little pretense. Flamboyant colours enhancing the laidback silhouettes, these are not clothes for staying home or going unnoticed.  Troy Costa’s Avido Tourista, is an ode to travelling unapologetically in style.

Designer JJ Valaya said,“Every year, for the past 30 years, my inspirational journeys start somewhere deep in my soul and are triggered by something visual that was arresting …this is where I start my research, dwelling on the visual treasures I chance upon either in books or through travel. It would be accurate to state that my intrigue for ancient civilizations and global cultures, specially the ones I’ve connected with, the Spice and Silk routes are my perennial love. As I’ve always said before, words are merely an introduction to the visual splendor that emerges from the deepest recesses of creativity, and I am confident that this collection too will scale those magical levels of excellence and awe that brand Valaya is now synonymous with.”

Designer Troy Costa said, “Travel has always been a pre-requisite for a Troy Costa man. The modernist Troy Costa man is the one who is à la mode every season. He is an avid traveller and a fashion expressionist. The past few months have mirrored us on how one should celebrate every single day as Tomorrow isn’t promised. Live laugh Love, Now!”

Commenting on the showcase Sunil Sethi, Chairman FDCI said,“FDCI has a long-standing relationship with both, JJ Valaya and Troy Costa. They are both forces to reckon with in the fashion industry and it is our absolute pleasure to be able to have them showcase their latest work at the joint, phygital edition of FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week.”
