Presented on 15th October 2023, at Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI in New Delhi, this promises to be a historic event marking the collaboration between the House of Lakmē, India’s first legacy beauty brand, and the globally acclaimed New York-based designer.
The collection is a reflective tribute, honoring the legendary muses who have graced Lakmé over the years and commemorating the iconic milestones achieved by both brands. Within it, you’ll discover remnants of Bibhu’s distinctive pieces—a thoughtfully curated blend of timeless classics and contemporary designs.
In the House of Lakme Grand Finale, this collection harmoniously blends classic and contemporary looks which highlight beauty x fashion and includes relics of some of Bibhu Mohapatra’s signature pieces.
The House of Lakmē Grand Finale, this season, is also a story of the House of Firsts. From being India’s first beauty brand, to firsts and innovations across categories, to the birth of Lakme Fashion Week to bring the country’s first beauty x fashion experience. The House of Lakme continues this story – a story of passion, dedicated to the Indian woman, and her explorations, which empower her to be her unapologetic self, every day.
In another first, this season, you will see the on runway Lakme’s muses, the coming together of iconic talents in beauty and fashion, who were Born at Lakmē – marking this moment as a special celebration of the brands heritage.
In this immensely anticipated show, Bibhu Mohapatra who is the designer of choice to some of the world’s most powerful and inspiring women including Michelle Obama, Kendal Jenner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zendaya, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, will not only showcase his latest creations but also present some of his iconic signature pieces to chronicle the journey of his namesake global brand. These stellar show of 75 looks will draw a parallel with the Lakmē muses, creating a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary beauty and fashion.
