In conversation with Vaibhav and Sejal from Tigerize

An empowering yet quirky active wear brand ‘Tigerize’ has now made its way into the Indian sportswear arena. With the launch of its very first collection. With a zeal for fitness and a passion for styling and designing, Vaibhav Bandal, Chief Executive. And Sejal Ahire Creative Director, have unveiled a line to suit every body type and complement every form of workout.

How did you both decide to come up with a brand together?

As Sejal had a fashion background and I had management experience. And we were also keen on sports and fitness at the same time the fitness industry in India was booming with fit India. Also everyone was Turning towards a fit lifestyle. And we saw great potential in the fitness industry and therefore started a brand. That would cater to the demands of the fitness industry.

Why in particular did you choose about launching an activewear brand, instead of any fashion line or bridal wear?

The fitness sector always had a special place in our heart and the rapid growth in the fitness industry was one of the pulling agents towards Activewear.

Considering the lockdown and the pandemic what are the challenges that you have faced while curating every aspect of Tigerize?

Lockdown and the pandemic have challenged us in almost every aspect. Be it manufacturing, tests, and trial, research and marketing also. But at the same time, it has increased our potential market size because it also showed people. That nothing is more important than a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Tell us a little about your personal backgrounds?

Sejal has a degree in fashion designing and has worked with global fashion designers and I have a master’s degree in international business. And I have worked in the manufacturing sector and own 2 manufacturing units.

Today the world of fashion is extremely dynamic and changes all the time, how do you plan to keep up with the pace?

The fashion industry changes very frequently as it included the trendsetters and followers. We would like to be one of the trendsetters in this industry by experimenting. And understanding the market demand before others.

What is special about your active wear brand that separates it from others?

We as an Activewear brand tend to focus not only on the fabric quality. And the way it falls on the body of an athlete but we also make sure that all the athletes look their best. And while training in our gear which will make sure that the colors are in trend and make everyone look their best and feel comfortable.

Do you plan to have an on-ground launch in the future?

We had actually planned an on-ground event for our launch too. But due to the restrictions and pandemic, we had to cancel it. As we did not want to be a catalyst in spreading the covid 19. But in future when it would be safe to do an on-ground event we would surely have an on-ground event with a blast.

Why ‘Tigerize’? Share details about the essence of the brand?

The most imp thing to be a good sportsman is to have mental and physical strength. And we also wanted the name to somehow represent our country. So both these things were represented by a tiger as it is our national animal and it is a symbol of willpower and strength. So, we had finalized about a tiger but we also wanted it to be different and stand out so we invented a new word which means be like a tiger. That’s TIGERIZE meaning show your willpower and personal strength to achieve any goal.
