Latin-Inspired Dining Experience

Mestizo Priya Market Delhi Review

S Dhawan

Priya Market is doing what Priya Market does—steady footfall, people moving in and out, that familiar Delhi rhythm running in the background. You take a turn inside Mestizo and the pace shifts on its own, without anything announcing it.

You don’t really register a starting point. You just find a table at Mestizo in Priya Market, sit down, and stay there without overthinking it.

I went in the afternoon. Natural light, no staging to the space, just a normal weekday flow. Some tables already occupied, some just settling in. It felt easy to sit there and not rush anywhere.

We started with drinks suggested by the manager, Vivek Kumar.

Fruta del Sol—berries, lime, sparkling water. Cold, simple, refreshing.
Cielo Tropical—pineapple, passion fruit, kaffir lime, citrus. Slightly layered but still very easy to drink.

The food at Mestizo Priya Market came without a fixed order, more like a steady flow from the kitchen.

An avocado and bean tostada first—refried beans, avocado, corn, pickled onions and sweet potato taco with chilli crema, black beans, and quinoa salad on the side. Both dishes felt familiar and well-balanced. The mixed bean patty burger was simple, composed, and satisfying in its own way, with sushi arriving alongside it to complete the table. Together, the meal felt cohesive and steady, unfolding at an unhurried, considered pace from start to finish. Everything was neatly put together

A vegetable Thai green curry with jasmine rice was served—gentle, balanced, and easy on the palate without feeling heavy. It was rounded off with a tres leches cake, soft and light, bringing the meal to a quiet, unhurried close. We also had a cold coffee blended with ice cream—cool, smooth, and refreshing, the kind of drink that quietly lifts the end of the meal.

What also stayed with me was the way it was looked after. The manager, Vivek Kumar, kept checking in with a quiet, personal warmth—suggesting things in a way that felt genuinely considered, not rehearsed. Even with a private gathering happening in another part of the space, there was no drop in attention at the table. Everything arrived smoothly, and the experience still felt personal, unhurried, and well taken care of.

What you notice at Mestizo Priya Market is that the menu doesn’t try to define itself too tightly. It moves between Latin-inspired flavours, Asian notes, and comfort-style dishes in a way that feels natural, not labelled.

The drinks stay consistent with that same approach—clean, balanced, and easy to return to between courses.

As the day moves toward evening, the space slowly changes. Light softens, music becomes more present, and Priya Market outside picks up its usual evening energy. By later in the day, especially on weekends, live music comes in and the restaurant feels more active.

But it doesn’t become something else. It remains the same place—just in a different mood of the day.

That ease is what stays with you from Mestizo Delhi.
