Launch of a new single

Midival Punditz out with  Rootha Yaar

Unquestionably, one of the pioneers of the Electronic Music wave that emerged from the Indian Subcontinent, Midival Punditz are a global brand. While playing the world stage, the Delhi-based duo of Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj, is quite comfortably, contemporary India in every way. Their music imbibes a heady dose of Indian folk and classical elements in their signature electronic music mould.
Post a well-deserved break of a few years, Punditz will be releasing a trio of singles in the latter half of 2019. The first of three Punditz style collaborative singles will be released on July 26th, 2019. Titled Rootha Yaar, the first single, is based on the writings of Baba Bulle Shah and features Kolkatta-based Indian classical prodigy, Sukanya Chattopadhyay.
This song was originally written as part of the music, done for the popular web series on Amazon Prime called Made In Heaven, by Gaurav Raina and Tarana Marwah (Komorebi).
Earlier this year, the Gully Boy soundtrack made waves across the country and Punditz’s contribution to the much-talked about film’s soundtrack – Train Song, needless to say, stood out.
Punditz for a long time have been the most in-demand producers and remixers in India, with several popular remixes, soundtracks and score credits in some of the biggest Bollywood films such as Don, Chake De! India, Fashion, Luck By Chance, Dum Maro Dum, Kartik Calling Kartik, Let’s Enjoy and Dhoom, amongst others. They have also licensed music to some of the hottest Hollywood films like Closer, Monsoon Wedding, and hit TV shows such as Prison Break and Six Feet Under.
