FDCI presents the Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week, Spring-Summer 2021, with DLF Emporio/The Chanakya, as the luxury partner

Taking the plunge, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), presents the first-ever phygital, Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week, spring-summer 2021, with DLF Emporio/The Chanakya as the luxury partner. It is scheduled 

The FDCI, has made a robust blueprint for the future, this includes a studio set up with screens and bespoke lighting, where designers are shooting their fashion films/videos. Alternatively, they can also shoot their own films. These pre-shot films will be streamed across various FDCI digital platforms —— Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the FDCI website. These will play according to a preset show schedule.  

Day One

Rajesh Pratap Singh opens digital  LMIFW SS’21

Titled ‘Fall. ing. 2020″ is an honest representation of the impact of coronavirus on our reality and fashion sensibility.  His unique style has used layering in this line-up which comprises of jackets, shirts, kurtas, dresses in bright pastel hues and classic whites.

Highlights

·        A contemporary edit with bright pastel hues and an extensive use of hand block printing techniques.

·        Handloom, glass cotton proprietory weaves from the textile unit in Neemrana and silk satins comprise the fabrics used in the collection

·        Signature pintuck style in structured silhouettes and his classic whites

Color Canvas

Muted tones of grey, green and mustard {depict a world taken by surprise and sadness}

Pristine white (represents eerie resemblance to hospitals and lab coats}

Metallic tones people( depiction of  bereave of the loss of loved ones}

Lavender, pink and red. (Depicting hope}

Watch…

  The film opens on a sad  note .The models are surrounded by oxygen cylinders in a desolate setting,  By the end, the oxygen cylinders are  painted with colorful pictures …the same are the representation of  the artisans and craftsman. Rajesh Pratap  ends his video with a tribute to the karigars. He  pledges to contribute part of the sale proceeds to a CSR Foundation for supporting Indian craftsmen displaced due to the pandemic.
