Freshly Baked Macadamia Spring Rolls

These delightful baked macadamia spring rolls are a unique fusion of flavors, perfect for a sweet treat or a festive dessert. Combining the crunch of macadamia nuts with the richness of mawa and the warmth of jaggery and saffron, these spring rolls are both indulgent and wholesome. Ingredients: Spring roll sheets (keep under a damp cloth)

For the Stuffing:

  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mawa (khoya)
  • 4 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp saffron milk

Method:

  1. Prepare the stuffing: In a bowl, mix together the chopped macadamia nuts, mawa, jaggery powder, raisins, cardamom powder, and saffron milk to create a uniform stuffing.
  2. Assemble the spring rolls: Place a spring roll sheet on a flat surface. Spoon the prepared stuffing onto the sheet, then roll it tightly. Seal the edges with a flour-and-water paste to ensure the rolls hold together during baking.
  3. Bake the spring rolls: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Arrange the spring rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then lightly brush them with olive oil.
  4. Bake: Bake for 12 minutes, or until the spring rolls turn golden and crispy.
  5. Cool and serve: Allow the spring rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm as a delicious and sweet snack!
