New Voices in Fashion

A New Chapter in Emerging Fashion: Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI Announces GenNext 42

Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced the three winners of the 42nd edition of NIF Global Presents GenNext: Abhishek Chauhan Studio, Day and Age by Shreya Parasrampuria and Sharan Adka, and Nimisha Diwakar’s Subbah.

Known as one of India’s most important platforms for emerging designers, GenNext continues to give young creative voices the opportunity to move from concept to runway. This year’s selected designers stood out for their distinctive design language, craftsmanship, and fresh approach to Indian fashion.

The three designers will present their collections at Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI, connecting with buyers, media, industry leaders, and a wider fashion audience.

Meet the GenNext 42 Designers

Abhishek Chauhan Studio | Noida
Collection: ALCHEMY – Nature × Craft × Technology

Abhishek Chauhan explores a new side of sustainable luxury, working with bio-based materials to create fashion that feels bold, architectural, and contemporary. His collection challenges the idea that conscious fashion has to look restrained.

Day and Age | Jaipur
Designers: Shreya Parasrampuria & Sharan Adka
Collection: Neither This Nor That

Inspired by our constantly shifting identities, the collection looks at the space between opposites through mythical hybrid creatures. Drawing from the layered character of Kantha quilts, the designers explore plurality, individuality, and the beauty of existing in-between.

Subbah | Kolkata
Designer: Nimisha Diwakar
Collection: Hustle and Hue

Inspired by the energy of Kolkata’s Mullick Ghat flower market, Nimisha Diwakar reimagines Bengal’s traditional batik craft through a contemporary lens. The collection captures the contrast between the chaos and calm of a place deeply woven into the city’s memory.

With 41 editions and more than 250 designers introduced to the industry, GenNext has already helped shape the careers of names such as Rahul Mishra, Kunal Rawal, Rimzim Dadu, and Aneeth Arora of Péro. The 42nd batch continues that legacy, bringing three distinct voices to the next chapter of Indian fashion.
