Having reignited their undeniably iconic partnership earlier this year with a series of eye-catching footwear and apparel launches, adidas Originals and Jeremy Scott return to present part two of their DIP Collection as well two new colorways of the adilette Teddy Slides.

Armani Hotel Milano celebrates its 10 years

Armani Hotel Milano is celebrating its 10th year anniversary. It was November 11, 2011 when, thanks to the project set up by Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and Emaar Properties PJSC, Armani Hotel Milano opened its doors in the heart of the city, after Armani Hotel Dubai.

The Hotel is located in the rationalist building designed by Enrico A. Griffini in 1937, which from above, presents a silhouette shaped as an A, and involves a world of harmony, privacy and attention to the safety of the guests.

A decade celebrated by Executive Chef Francesco Mascheroni with a menu that consists of the most remarkable dishes of these years, recalling the evolution and the successes. The raw material is always the main focus, in its purity and authenticity; the design and the colors of the dishes meet different places and atmospheres of the hotel in pictures shot in the main spaces (Armani/Bamboo Bar, Armani/SPA, the rooms, Armani/Ristorante), in an ideal embrace between materials and furniture which makes the hotel a unique place of Milanese hospitality.

Starting from the most recent, up until 2011, the signature dishes are:

Snapper, Vegetables and fruits, mango, green tempura, shiso, a starter from this year’s menu, Ravioli, Langa lamb, lime, chard, datterino tomato (2020), Black Cod, miso black cod, yuzu, tofu, crispy vegetables (2019), Prawn, Carrot, passion fruit, lukewarm butter (2018), Spaghetti sea urchins, miso cauliflower, green apple (2017), Duck foie gras, smoked eel, green apple, dill, pistachio (2016), Veal cheek, Polenta concia foam, cocoa (2015), White Tiramisù, Coffee meringue (2014), Like a Lasagna, Duck ragout, lemongrass, lime (2013), Charcoal pigeon, pumpkin, tamarind (2012), a big classic still present in the menu, Liu chu chocolate, Amalfi lemon, candied ginger (2011), a dessert shaped like an A, homage to the Armani world.

These dishes tell the evolution, the research and the intuitions that gave origin to a unique cuisine style that pays homage to Occident and Orient and proposes traditional dishes with a modern touch.

The menu, which consists of two tasting journeys with 5 or 6 courses, is available from November 11, to December 21.

On November 8, in Dubai, Chef Francesco Mascheroni and Giovanni Papi, Chef of Armani/Ristorante Dubai, will celebrate the opening of the two hotels in a four-handed dinner, that will be hosted in Milan in the future.

Armani/Ristorante is open from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and it is closed on Sunday and Monday evening.

Identifying Emotional & Behavioral Reactions of Kids

By Ms. Kanchan Rai, Mental & Emotional Wellbeing Coach, Founder – Let Us Talk

Everyone at some point of time in their lives tends to experience anxiety, a mechanism developed by the body to handle and acclimatize to perplexing situations. Children and teens usually suffer from stress much more than adults do, as they constantly get exposed to new and puzzling environments. While little amounts of stress can be beneficial, experiencing undesirable pressure can cause long-standing psychological and physical impairment in children.

As per various studies conducted on child anxiety it has been researched that about 7.4% of children under the age group of 3-17 years have been diagnosed with a behavior problem. For children dealing with behavior issues, more than 1 in 3 tend to suffer from anxiety (36.6%) and about 1 in 5 face depressions (20.3%). Since kids fail to express their emotions well, parents sometimes remain ignorant that the child is undergoing stress. Hence identifying anxiety in kids is the primary step towards eliminating it.

Identifying physical, emotional & behavioral signs of childhood anxiety:

1.      Physical Symptoms:

Violent overreactions to mild problems: If your child has been showing an increase in aggressive behavior, it is a clear indication that he or she is stressed. Physical or verbal aggression should be immediately addressed and dealt with.

Constant sleep problems: Kids who have a lot running in their minds may experience problems in sleeping due to insomnia, bedwetting, and nightmares. Bedwetting is a common sign of your child being anxious. Waking up multiple times at night due to a frightening nightmare can also be signs that all is not well with the child.

2.      Emotional or Behavioral Symptoms:

Unable to concentrate on academics: Refusal to attend school is one of the main causes of anxiety for kids if the child’s stressor is linked to school. As anxiety tends to build, it scrambles with the brain, making it difficult for the child to focus on studies even while at home.

Inability to relax: The child may behave restless, irritable, and nervous or may be unwilling to let parents out of sight.

Loss of Appetite: Feeling of stress can cause headaches and abdominal pain in kids. This can lead to refusal to eat food and a visible change in the child’s eating patterns. Some might tend to overeat while others might experience a loss of appetite as compared to their daily meal portions.

Tips to ease the stress indicators:

1.      Dealing with your child’s irritability with patience:

The extended lockdown phase may trigger stress in children. Staying away from school and being separated from their friends may cause emotional discomfort leading to developmental problems. Particularly toddlers may unveil behavioral changes due to feeling unsafe because they are put in a new and uncertain routine. Kids might unconsciously display regression in their behavior as a coping skill and a desire to return to the phase where they felt secured. Parents must deal with the situation with utmost patience. Take the quarantine period as an opportunity and nurture stronger bonds with your children which will enable them to confide to you in case they have been undergoing bouts of stress.

2.      Keep a note of how your child or teen has been interacting with others:

In many cases the child may act normal at home, but may exhibit a changed behavior in other settings. Hence, parents must communicate with other guardians and school teachers to understand the child or teen’s behavior patterns at school.

3.      Act positively:

Children may sometimes express feelings of trauma by saying undesirable things about themselves or others. They may use words like no one likes me, or I am irresponsible. Parents must guide the child in a positive direction, thus eliminating any negative feelings from their minds.

4.      Seek help:

Instead of taking such overwhelming situations on your own, it is advisable to seek expert help. The mental health professional can help identify problems and will develop operative strategies to resolve feelings of anxiety.

Kids thrive in a structured environment where they feel secure and loved. The greatest thing parents can do to lessen the stress for your child is to watch their behavior. A watchful observation will help you in identifying the cause of their stress.

Winter Care – Moisturising

By Shahnaz Husain

Moisture is most important to the skin. The amount of moisture, which the skin holds, determines its texture and the rate at which it ages. That is why dry skins are more vulnerable to early aging.  Moisture helps to keep the skin soft, smooth and supple. Seasonal conditions, exposure to the sun, air conditioning and heating, soaps and chlorinated water, make-up cosmetics and air pollution can all cause moisture depletion. Therefore, the daily care routine should be adjusted according to the skin’s needs.

The skin absorbs moisture in the form of an emulsion of oil and water. It cannot absorb either water or oil by itself. Therefore, the only way of protecting the skin from moisture loss is to use moisturizers daily, to replenish the loss of moisture and keep the skin soft and moist.

Moisturisersare available in both liquid and cream form. During the dry season, for normal to dry skin, it is better to use a creamy moisturiser, applying it after cleansing and toning the skin. For dry skin, a moisturiser should also be applied under make-up. A light liquid moisturiser may be adequate during the humid season.

Oily skins can hold moisture better than normal or dry skins. But, an oily skin may need a moisturizer too. A light moisturizing lotion should be adequate for an oily skin during the dry season. An all purpose oil-free cream is also suitable if the skin is oily.

First cleanse or wash the face. Apply moisturizer on the face and work it into the skin smoothly and gently, using your fingertips. Wipe off the excess (if any) with tissues or cotton wool.

Natural moisturisers:

Honey is a powerful natural moisturizer and is suited to all skin types. For dryness of the skin, apply honey and wash it off with water after 15 minutes. For oily skin, mix honey with lemon juice in equal quantities and apply.

Aloe vera gel can also be applied on the face to moisturize the skin. It is also a powerful moisturizer.

For oily skin, mix one teaspoon pure glycerin with 50 ml rose water and keep in an airtight bottle. Apply a little of this lotion. It moisturizes the skin without making it oily.

Mix equal quantities of aloe vera gel and mineral water. Then heat over a low fire till it forms a cream. When it cools, store in an airtight jar.
