The Jaipur Literature Festival, known as ‘greatest literary show on Earth’, is all set to return for its thirteenth edition from 23RD TO 27TH JANUARY

  • Morning Music

The Festival begins each day with the calming strains of Morning Music.  The stage will be graced by acclaimed artists such as BC Manjunath, an exponent of Konnakol and the mrindangam; sitar maestro and recipient of the President’s Award for best instrumentalist, Purbayan Chatterjee; leading Carnatic veena-player Saraswati Rajagopalan, and Supriya Nagarajan, a renowned Carnatic vocalist and founder of ‘Manasamitra’.

  • Heritage Evenings

The Festival will also host a power-packed Heritage Evening at an iconic and historic venue in Jaipur. Supported by Rajasthan Tourism, this majestic evening at Amer Fort will feature a mesmerising performance by Pandit Rajendra Gangani, one of the leading practitioners of the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak. He will pay tribute to the age-old classical dance form, along with an ensemble of Kathak dancers. Les Souffleurs or The Whisperers, an artistic group created by Olivier Comte, will enthrall audiences with a unique production where they whisper poetic secrets into each other’s ears, using a hollow cane. To end the evening on a musical note, world-renowned sitarist Shubhendra Rao will present ‘East Marries West — A Legacy’ as a celebration of his Guru, the sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar’s 100th birth anniversary.  He will be joined by his wife, Saskia Rao-de Haas, who is hailed as a pioneer for introducing the ‘Indian cello’ to classical Indian music.

  • iWrite at Jaipur BookMark

For all aspiring authors and poets with multiple drafts scribbled behind every notebook and diaries filled with words that you hope will one day be read by the world – ‘iWrite’ by Jaipur BookMark is the perfect platform. Shortlisted participants get a platform to share their work and receive constructive guidance from international publishers, literary agents, translators and other industry experts in a pitching session at Jaipur during JBM.

  • Blogging Competition

There is a Blogging Competition  to support and promote artistic expression through writing, the Blogging competition will give ten chosen writers a chance to inspire audiences through their words on the Festival’s official blog site. The winners will also be invited to the Festival and cover various sessions from the 23rd-27th of January 2020.

PET FED, INDIA’S BIGGEST PET FESTIVAL CULMINATES SUCCESSFULLYIN DELHI

A NewYear Special Edition: It was a Paw-fect Party with Furry Friends!

Pet Fed, India’s Biggest Pet Festival & Limca World Record Holder of ‘Biggest Dog Carnival’, presented by Cozo Pet concluded their second and final day of its New Year Special Edition in Delhi. The fluffy little friends adored their much deserved day-out as Pet Fed, winds up with its sixth and final day with all the enthusiasm on December 29th, 2019, Sunday at NSIC Grounds, Okhla.

The two days of the cutest weekend of the year witnessed a footfall of over 3674+ pets. The 2nd day swanked of numerous activities like Comedy Central Follow Me, Temptation Alley, Pets Got Talent, Pet fashion show & the most loved Police Dog Show which was done in association with Delhi Police Crime Dog Squad by 12 police dogs & 22 officer handlers, in the presence of the ACP. The festival was also open to people who don’t have pets but simply wished to attend Pet Fed & be around thousands of pooches to get a good dose of puppy love.

Speaking on the occasion, Akshay Gupta, Founder, Pet Fed mentioned, “We are overwhelmed at this fabulous response that we received this year! Our bond with Delhi is much thicker and deeper now. We thank each one of our well-wishers who have given us so much love, encouragement and support. It was heart-warming to see people & their pets coming out in such huge numbers even during this cold.

We now look forward to spreading the puppy love and all of that cattitude in Mumbai.”

The Play Area was a must drop by for dogs for an Agility have-a-go, trampolines, ball pools, doggo slides, and ring slides! There was also a dedicated cat zone foolproof for the cats to climb, have fun & immerse in. The cat zone organized an international cat show in association with World Cat Federation on both the days & it had a lot of cool perks for our feline friends. In addition, there was a wealth of pet displays and completions which were on the stage!

The adoption camp was the much-loved spot for pet lovers who have wanted to get home a bundle of joy but hadn’t found their furry partner yet. In short, there was something for everyone at the festival.

International award-Winning Movie Antervyatha Promotions held In National Capital

Recently, movie Antervyatha star cast- Kuldeep Sareen and Veena Choudhary along with singer Tochi Raina came to Delhi for the promotions. Director Keshav Arya was also present at the event held in 38 Barracks, Connaught Place. The movie is set to release on 3 January 2020.
The movie is a suspense thriller based on a person called Rajat who is trapped between his girlfriend and wife and to free himself from this situation, he wants to get away from any one of them. In this state of dilemma, he has committed a crime. This movie is produced by Deepak Vashish, Bharat Kavad, Dinesh Ahir and co-produced by Akshay Yadav.
Present at the event, Director Keshav Arya spoke about the film, ” This movie is made with a lot of efforts. I used to do theatre earlier and I have tried my best to put in this film as a director. I approached actors and Singer Tochi Raina to help me out in this project and they were very supportive.”
Actor Kuldeep Sareen spoke about small budget films, ” This is phenomenal how a person from the theatre has directed a film and arranged finances for it. It a very long journey which Keshav has gone through. Actors like us should come forward  to support these films and encourage new talent.”

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Starcast witnessed in Delhi For the launch of Second Movie Trailer

 Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (starring  Kajol  and Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Jagapathi Babu, and Sharad Kelkaron  is going to hit the big screens on January 10, 2020  in 3D.

 

This film marks Ajay Devgn’s100th film in the Hindi film industry. In a recently held press conference during the second trailer launch Ajay told that they want to start a series, of the unsung heroes.Tanhaji is the first of that series. We want to show that Tanhaji is not a state hero, he’s a national hero. There’s only a paragraph about him in our history books, but we want more people to know about him.  Ajay told that he didn’t even realize that this wasa his100th film until “Om told me this while shooting. The only thing that matters is that a person should keep working and the thing which scares is that this is not your last film.”

 Kajol spoke about the reason for doing Tanhaji, ”  One of the reasons is Ajay of course but also my role is film has an innate strength of supporting her husband in going out and fight for the country. It is a story of an unsung hero and I am happy to be a part of such an amazing story.” When asked who is her real life warrior. She proudly told that it is her mother.

 

 Saif Ali Khan was amazed to see the trailer, he shared his excitement for the movie, ” I seriously have never seen anything like this before. The 3D effects has made the trailer incredible as we have shot the film on sets.”

The story of the movie revolves around the life of Pappu Mishra( Played by Priyaank Sharma) and his reality show. The film is directed by Karan Vishwanath Kashyap and produced by Prachi Manmohan.
During the interview, Akshay Khanna spoke about the reason behind choosing Sab Kushal Mangal, ” The film gave me a lot of Creative satisfaction. It is written so beautifully and every character has it’s own innocence which made me do the film.”

7-time Olympic Medalist, World Gymnast Legend – Shannon Miller to be the International Event Ambassador of TMM 2020

Procam International, India’s leading sports promoter, today announced seven-time Olympic medalist, American gymnast and nine-time World Champion, Shannon Miller as the International Event Ambassador for the 17th edition of the World Athletics Gold Label Tata Mumbai Marathon, to be held on 19th January, 2020.

The 42-year-old American gymnastics legend is the only female athlete to be inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame, twice in 2006 (Individual) and 2008 (Team) respectively. Her tally of five medals (2 silver, 3 bronze) at the 1992 Olympics was the most medals won by a US athlete in any sport. She has been the winner of an astonishing 59 International and 49 National competitions. Miller is the first US gymnast to win 2 World All-Around Titles. Leading the “Magnificent Seven” to the US Women’s first-ever Team Gold at the 1996 Games at Atlanta, she also became the first American gymnast to capture the Gold medal on the Balance Beam.

Shannon was diagnosed with cancer in the year 2011 and in order to help women make their health a priority, she established a foundation devoted to women’s health. Popularly known for her concentration and determination as the most decorated gymnast in US history for over two decades, Shannon is also a mother of two, a cancer survivor, and an author.  Her autobiography “It’s Not About Perfect: Competing for My Country and Fighting for My Life” aims to encourage and empower people to break through and overcome their own personal challenges. She continues to be part of gymnastics and Olympic communities as an analyst and commentator.
