People’s CM mesmerised FLO  members with his open and frank remarks

 

At an interactive session with FICCI Ladies Organisation, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal impressed the members with his honest and frank remarks.

‘Revolutionising the fields of education and Health, AAP government headed by Kejriwal has gained huge support from people all over the country. This has earned him a tag of “People’s CM” and has made him a leader of common man across the nation” said Harjinder Kaur Talwar, President FLO.

Talking about his government’s various successful initiatives in the past five years to provide the basic amenities to the common man at the most economical price without compromising with the quality, he didn’t shy away from admitting the not so successful attempt at controlling  pollution and making Delhi safe for women. “The measures are being taken continuously towards improving the situation of both”, he said while announcing that the Delhi government will administer pledge to male students at all schools to behave well with girls and not indulge in crimes against women.

The chief minister said the Aam Aadmi Party government has taken several steps to ensure women’s safety in the national capital. “Our government has decided to light up dark spots by installing two lakh street lights. We have also deployed marshals on buses to ensure the safety of women,” he said. Kejriwal said there is a need to improve policing in the country.

Regarding Pollution Control, he said the stubble can be converted into CNG and coal and infact, this is a good business opportunity which could be taken up the women entrepreneurs. Also, the government is tying up with a Washington Lab to know the exact causes of pollution during various time periods of the year.  “Once we know the cause, then only we can work towards it”, he said

On this occasion, Kejriwal also unveiled a Survey done by FLO on Sanitation & Hygiene of urban poor women. Stressing upon the menstrual hygiene, FLO president Harjinder Kaur requested the CM to kindly move the sanitary napkins from miscellaneous item list to medicinal item list. This will help the government to control the quality and price of sanitary napkins and the cost will be within the reach of urban poor women to afford.

And before he left, he asked the women entrepreneurs, the reason why Delhi loves Kejriwal and the answer was only one, “he’s the people’s CM”.

RANBIR AND ALIA SPREAD ‘SMILES’ ON TIKTOK

The challenge urges users to share maximum smiles in less than 10 seconds, with the catch that the smile must be unique and different. The challenge saw over 5 billion impressions and 10,000 user generated content painting TikTok with Smiles through the fun challenge in a matter of just 72 hours.

As a pioneering youth brand, LAY’S has always been on a mission to offer a joyful interruption to the busy, everyday lives of its consumers and the new #SmileDekeDekho Duet challenge is a perfect embodiment of this brand mission, as the challenge urges consumers across India to share their smiles and spread joy.

The video features Ranbir having a blast as he is shown depicting a multitude of expressions and ‘Smiles’ while posing with the new LAY’S Smile pack. The ace actor is seen smiling, winking, and pouting, while grooving in the challenge video. Alia too is seen showcasing a wide array of expressions and sharing all kinds of ‘Smiles’ while posing with her LAY’S Smile pack.

Inheritance of Gain  

Inherit and Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) collaborated on a heritage craft and contemporary design festival at the lawns of the Sunder Nursery Heritage Park and organised fashion presentation that featured almost 20 style gurus The afternoon show was a part of the Inherit Festival that took place recently.It was a  two day festival, December 7-and December 8, and had almost 100 exhibitors including master craftsmen, fashion retailers, exporters, women entrepreneurs and retailers of languishing crafts,making it a heady amalgamation of craft, design, fashion, lifestyle and heritage tourism.

 

The fiesta was divided into two segments; the first one has 21 designers, who showcased four color categories (white/ivory, earthy, indigo and the sari). Participating designers included AM:PM, Amita Gupta Sustainable, Asha Gautam, Charu Parashar, DHI, Diksha Khanna, Divya Sheth, Elisha Wadhwani, Geisha Designs by Paras & Shalini, Ikai by Ragini Ahuja, Ilk, Mynah’s Reynu Taandon, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Pawan Sachdeva, Payal Jain, Rahul Mishra, Siddhartha Bansal, Suman Nathwani, SVA by Sonam & Paras, TAANI by Tanira Sethi and Urvashi Kaur. The grand finale of sorts was by the iconic duo, David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore of Abraham & Thakore, who enlivened the balmy afternoon with a handloom soiree.

From Dec. 6 – Jan. 5 (5-10 p.m. nightly), you can stroll through DC’s most historic neighborhood and marvel at Georgetown GLOW‘s stunning artworks as part of this curated exhibition of outdoor light art installations. Discover winter wonder at Washington Harbour

Witness the District’s Holiday Boat Parade

Each year, dozens of dazzling boats traverse the Potomac River from the waterfront in Alexandria, Va. to the The Wharf. You can observe free of charge, and there are even holiday festivities on both sides of the river to enjoy beforehand for this year’s parade on Dec. 7. Prizes will be awarded to the most beautiful vessels, which begin their journey at 6 p.m., and fireworks will cap off the parade at 8 p.m.

Hugh Jackman is The Music Man. If you loved Bette Midler in Hello, Dolly!, you won’t wanna miss Hugh Jackman’s superstar turn as the fast-talking salesman-professor Harold Hill in another highly anticipated revival of a mid-20th-century Broadway classic. Directed by Jerry Zaks, who guided Midler’s Tony-winning performance in 2017, the show opens in September and pairs Jackman with Broadway veteran Sutton Foster as Marion the Librarian.
  3. Pride Plays is back for a second season. As part of last summer’s Stonewall 50/WorldPride celebration, the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in the West Village put on a five-day celebration of LGBTQ+ plays and playwrights, which included staged readings of new and classic works along with panel discussions for creators and fans. The shows sold out, so the festival is returning in 2020 for Pride Week. Broadway star Michael Urie (Torch Song) is co-producing with Doug Nevins and festival director Nick Mayo. —BS

We’re getting a ghost building. In fall, the Whitney Museum is set to unveil a massive outdoor installation that harks back to its neighborhood’s rich history as an industrial area and hotbed for outlaw art. David Hammons’ Day’s End will be a warehouse-sized outline of a structure that used to sit on Pier 52 across from the museum. The abandoned building was the site of an infamous work of art from the 1970s, also called Day’s End, which consisted of shapes carved by artist Gordon Matta-Clark into the shed’s walls. There will also be an accompanying exhibit exploring the legacy of the art scene on the waterfront during the ’70s and ’80s. —BS

You will have many opportunities to “LOL” live and in person. In addition to great ongoing shows like Butterboy (Mondays at Littlefield in Brooklyn) and Whiplash (periodically at Union Hall, also in Brooklyn), 2020’s comedy slate will bring a veritable clown car full of outstanding stand-up performers.   6. New York City is full of delicious sweet treats, but there’s always room for more…and Krispy Kreme opening a mega flagship in Times Square in 2020 is good news for anyone with a sweet tooth. The 4,500-square-foot store will feature a glaze “waterfall”—or, we suppose, glazefall—from which glaze streams down onto doughnuts. A theater showing films on the doughnut-making process and a walk-up window open 24/7 are among the other highlights. —CP
  7. It’s crystal clear: NYC rocks. Two of our favorite sections of the American Museum of Natural History—the Halls of Gems and Minerals—reopen in fall 2020. Giant geodes from afar, stones unearthed from subterranean NYC, one of the world biggest sapphires—they’ll all shine brightly in a transformed, expanded setting. —AR
  8. Speaking of rock…may as well roll next door from the natural history museum to the New-York Historical Society to check out the Bill Graham retrospective, which for about half the year will fill the floors with concert posters and other music ephemera from the psychedelic rock era. —AR
  9. Midtown will get even more dramatic. The century-old Drama Book Shop was forced to close in January 2019—but, thanks to a funding boost from Lin-Manuel Miranda and other theater-lovers, it will open its doors again in March just south of Times Square. —GO
  10. Studio 54 is getting its own museum exhibition. Studio 54: Night Magic, opening March 13 at the Brooklyn Museum, puts into perspective the nightclub’s effect on NYC and pop culture. The show will feature images, video footage, drawings and fashion from the Midtown club’s 1970s and ’80s heyday. —CP
  11. We’ll go high. Hudson Yards’ outdoor observation deck, Edge, opens this March along with an indoor bar and restaurant called Peak, which will offer sky-high sips and snacks. The buzzy Moxy East Village will also debut a new rooftop bar this spring, just in time for outdoor-drinking season. —GO
  12. New rides are dropping at Coney Island. NYC’s famed boardwalk amusement district gets two major debuts next summer: a log flume and a roller coaster. The rides will be intertwined with each other for a little extra terror. Their names will come from the public’s submissions to a contest that was held last summer. Also scheduled to open: a waterfront ropes course and an interactive water ride. The park starts its season in early April. —BS

While talking to media Divya shared her gratitude towards the love she is receiving for the track, ” I am thankful to the audience that they have given so much love to the song and it has got more than 110 million views on social media. I am receiving videos from all over the world in the same costume which I am wearing in the song and people reciting the same dialogues of the song.”
