Reliance Industries Limited’s R|Elan™ is all set to make a return toFDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week with the launch of its new biodegradable R|Elan™ EcoGold offering and will partner with dynamic designer duo Gauri & Nainika to present an eco-friendly collection titled Midnight Botanica.
The presentation, scheduled to take place on Day 3 of the fashion extravaganza, will marry the elegant and romantic design sensibilities by Gauri & Nainika to the sustainable offerings of R|Elan’s sought-after fabric collections. ThoughR|Elan is already well-known for its eco-friendly recycled fabrics that are made entirely from post-consumer (waste) plastic bottles, the designers Gauri & Nainika are particularly thrilled to be using fabrics that are bio-degradable, a first for R|Elan™.
In a bid to drive the green fashion movement across the fashion world, the line was created using eco-friendly, sustainable fabrics from R|Elan™ including R|Elan™ GreenGold & R|Elan™ EcoGold along with RElan™ FreeFlow. R|Elan™ GreenGold, one of the greenest fabrics is made from 100% post-consumer used PET bottles deploying efficient and certified manufacturing practices.R|Elan™ EcoGold fabrics are bio-enhanced to break down into natural elements and plays a crucial role in saving fashion waste from piling in landfills. Lastly, R|Elan™ FreeFlow fabrics created to add elegance and give a luxurious flow to garments.
Midnight Botanica, the spring-summer range by Gauri & Nainika will boast of dark and dreamy tones inspired by the starkly contrasting colors of nighttime botanical illustrations. With fluid and breezy styles, the collection includes flowing gowns, languid Grecian high-lows, easy-to-wear light airy dresses, jumpsuits, and more red-carpet worthy silhouettes in signature floral prints flaunting a rich color palette.
