Art Exhibition

Silence, Reimagined

Presented by Zen Crafart | New Delhi | 20–30 November 2025

Viveek Sharma’s Silence Please at Bikaner House, New Delhi

Silence Please, the solo showcase of contemporary artist Viveek Sharma, presented by Zen Crafart, belongs entirely to the latter. On view at Bikaner House, New Delhi, from 20th to 30th November 2025, the exhibition isn’t designed to overwhelm — it gently settles into you, like a held breath, like a moment unspoken.

Rooted in stillness and psychological landscapes, Sharma’s works navigate interior silence, emotional memory, and the quiet tension of urban life. The exhibition brings together large-format paintings, more intimate compositions, sculptural pieces, and a newly introduced series of limited edition art plates — offering collectors and art lovers a tactile, accessible extension of his visual language without diluting its artistic integrity.

For Zen Crafart, this Delhi presentation marks a significant milestone, as Partner Rashmin Majithia reflects:

“The showcase of ‘Silence Please’ marks a milestone for us and for everyone who has experienced the depth and subtlety of Viveek’s artistic world. His practice expands the language of contemporary Indian art through an extraordinary command of emotion, form, and narrative. With the Delhi chapter underway and receiving encouraging appreciation, we look forward to presenting the next phase of his journey in Mumbai, where another exhibition ‘Sacred Gestures’ will reveal a dynamic and expressive counterpoint to his introspective body of work. Presenting these exhibitions across two cultural hubs will allow us to deepen the conversation around his evolution and reaffirm Zen Crafart’s commitment to supporting voices that define the future of Indian art.”

Beyond aesthetics, the exhibition also touches a larger cultural and economic chord. Speaking on the intersection of art and tourism, Ms. Jyoti Mayal, Chairperson of the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), notes:

“India’s art ecosystem is a vital component of tourism growth. Modern and contemporary art are not only reflections of our cultural identity, but also powerful economic drivers that enhance destination value and attract discerning global travellers. By integrating art-led experiences through curated districts, museums, and festivals, we can generate employment, deepen creative skills, and strengthen India’s global appeal. Art is a national asset and its synergy with tourism is essential for building an innovative, experience-led, and futuristic India.”

This sentiment aligns closely with the current momentum of India’s art market. Recent reports indicate sustained growth across modern, pre-modern and contemporary segments, each growing at over 31 percent. The ₹5–25 lakh bracket, in particular, has witnessed rapid collector expansion — driven by younger buyers, corporate patrons, design-conscious audiences and collectors exploring sculptures, installations and limited editions.

On this shift, Majithia adds:

“The Indian art market continues to mature, supported by cultural significance, consistent price performance, and growing collector confidence. Younger collectors, design-forward buyers, corporate patrons, and premium gifting audiences are bringing fresh energy, driving demand for sculptures, installations, and limited editions. The market is evolving into a more diverse and immersive space.”

From Silence to Movement: The Mumbai Chapter

Following its New Delhi run, Zen Crafart will take Sharma’s work to Mumbai with his next solo, Sacred Gestures, scheduled from 2nd to 8th December 2025 at Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM daily).

Where Silence Please leans inward, Sacred Gestures shifts towards dynamism. Inspired by classical and contemporary performance traditions, the Mumbai exhibition explores rhythm, motion and corporeal expression — forming an evocative counterpoint to the introspection of his Delhi body of work.

Talking about this transition, Majithia shares:

“The capital has already set a strong foundation as we now aim for the Mumbai exhibition. Collectors, patrons, and art lovers can join us for the unveiling of ‘Sacred Gestures,’ a body of work marked by intensity, movement, and power.”

About Viveek Sharma

Viveek Sharma’s practice operates between observation and introspection. His work reflects a painterly engagement with urban realities — identity, migration, social hierarchies, consumption and belonging — all viewed through the lens of contemporary Indian life.

Drawing inspiration from Mumbai’s layered existence, Sharma moves between autobiographical sensitivity and the anonymity of an empathetic observer. His visual language is shaped by contrasts: past and present, rural and urban, tradition and modernity, self and society. Yet, within this complexity, there remains an underlying current of beauty, hope and quiet resilience.
