All of us know how important keeping healthy is but few of us actually make diligent efforts towards maintaining good health. Creating a balance between eating right. And inculcating some exercise habits has often been a challenging proposition for many of us.
Yet there are individuals, who no matter what the weather never miss their workout sessions. Tich Nhat Hanh says, “ when it comes to health and well-being, regular exercise is about as close to a magic potion as you can get.” I couldn’t agree with him more. So irrespective of whether you are a sportsperson. Fitness enthusiastic or someone just starting with your workout sessions. Here are 6 valuable tips, which will help you get the best out of your workout session
- Eating before & after workout: It is important to eat low carb diet before a workout session. Diets like oatmeal, whole wheat bread or fruits will help in burning more fat during exercise. Consuming protein diet like egg whites, yogurt etc after a work out is also important. As it helps in re-fueling the body, which will help in building the muscles.
- Stretching correctly: Have a dynamic stretching exercise routine in your warm up session, so that the different parts of your body muscle are moved. This will help in increasing your body temperature and heart rate gradually and warm the muscles. The exact stretches you undertake during warm up will depend on your body type and the work out you want.
- Taking mindful breaks: Your body would already be under physical stress during the workout sessions. Therefore, it is important to take mindful breaks in between. Having a continuous session without breaks may harm your body, so allow yourself short breaks in-between to recuperate.
- Track your progress:There are multiple apps available, which will help you, track your workout sessions, or simply a notepad would do to track your different sessions. This way you can monitor your progress and up your game accordingly for the next week. This will also help you to look back and see how far you have come with your physical transformation.
- Create specific goals: It is important to tailor your workout session keeping the end goals in mind. For eg. If you want to lose weight and tone your stomach muscles then focus on core exercises or a training program, which will help you with this. Don’t try to do all kinds of exercises, as this may not yield the results you want. Stay focused, as your body will get used to a specific kind of exercise for better results.
- Get a good play list: Yes, you heard it right. Nothing like good music to pump you up and motivate you during your work out sessions. So create a track list you enjoy listening and working out on. Also keep track of your ear buds and how long you have used them to avoid hygiene issues.
Your workout doesn’t start when you hit the gym or the exercise corner in your house. It starts from the time you wake up by eating right and at the right time to increase your body’s productivity, fulfilling its nutritional goals too.
