A Mumbai-born social entrepreneur, Revathi Roy has been championing the cause of women empowerment since 2007 when she established Asia’s first all-women taxi service, ForShe. In 2016, she established Hey Deedee as a last-mile delivery service company with the vision to financially empower the underprivileged women. Since then, the company has been garnering huge interest from investors and today some of its clients include Amazon, The Curry Brothers, The Bohri Kitchen, Subway, Herbivore, Shophop, Brijwasi, Pizza Hut, and Ecomm Express. She is about to launch the book ‘Who Is Revathi Roy?’ written by Swati Lodha and published by Publishing Infinity. Her first venture FORSHE was born out of her intent to create a fleet of women taxi drivers, a first of its kind and then started Hey DeeDee. An agile learner, Revathi pivoted her business plans with time and founded ‘Veera Cabs’ after selling her first venture. She is having the launch of her book “Who is Revathi Roy?’ written by Dr.Smita Lodha, which is based on her who has shaped the transportation and logistics business in India by infusing these male-dominated sectors with skilled women. Revathi Roy, a passionate driver herself, wanted to empower women by teaching them a skill that would not only make them financially independent but also make them more relevant in society.
She is a recipient of many awards, such as; The Women of Excellence by FICCI FLO, The Femina Women Jury Award for Social Impact, Women Icons Award at Singapore, and NITI AYOG for starting Asia’s first women taxi service, Women of Worthiness Award, among others. She also featured on the cover page of Forbes India’s first WPower Women Trailblazers Issue. Revathi is globally recognized as ‘a cab lady who has been transforming the lives of thousands of underprivileged urban women in India’. Currently, she is empowering 400 women across 6 states in the country. She is an ‘Exponential Entrepreneur’ who has raised three businesses. A TDS rally driver by passion, she turned her passion to drive into her mission of driving change for women.
