WORK FROM HOME – CHROMED DESIGN STUDIO

Beat the Pandemic

Work from Home

Architecture is not the creation of Non-Living Products made of merely Brick and Concrete; rather it is the art of creating Living Organisms that live in Harmony with Mother Nature. Chromed Design Studio is the tree with roots dug deep into the soil that extracts the best juices of design, management, and execution, to nourish the tree and for providing a sustainable environment to the world. The viral outbreak of Covid19 has brought the world to a standstill. In these trying times, Chromed Design Studio understands the severity of the situation and urges everyone to take the necessary precautions. Given the current health crisis, Work from home has become almost a necessity. Being a responsible firm they have implemented work from home way before it was mandatory and compulsory. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, they recognize the responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of customers, partners, employees and communities above all else.

Ar. Abhigyan Neogi, Founder of Chromed Design Studio reassures that a few days of being careful will help beat this pandemic. Team Chromed is spending this time to do research and future proof of their upcoming projects by focusing on the minutest of details. This isolation time can be utilized for a more healthy and productive research-based work. In times of adversity, the only objective should be to face the problems and collectively support each other in times of need. It is imperative that focus is not lost and the maximum time is spent on research and preparation for the future rather than thinking about today. This time can be used for the collective benefit for the firm as well as the individuals. It is the perfect opportunity to take control over one’s routine and integrate new software into their arsenal. Architects and designers can work on improving their drawing skills. In addition to that, they can stay well-informed and proactive. There are so many myths about Covid-19, but it is the job of a leader to plan for a range of scenarios and make sure all preparations have been made, and lead with a spirit of optimism.

The major challenge for architects and designers during this pandemic is the inability to collaborate and work as a team. Architecture is practiced on the ground so while building and working on a site one is physically present there and witnesses everything. Architects need to interact and meet to discuss a lot of things in person and this is the core challenge posed by work from home. Technically if the approach is individualistic then it might be a viable option but in case of collaborations for larger projects then work from home is not suitable. Having said that it is in the best interest of everyone to stay indoors and practice self-isolation for the greater good. In times like these, it is important to keep abreast of the latest developments from reputable sources. However, incessant monitoring of news and social media will not only hinder workflow but needlessly increase anxiety. During working hours, avoid them entirely so that the focus is entirely on work. Discipline is important when working from home. While it is vital to maintain productivity levels during core work hours, it is equally important to detach from work when needed. Take this as an opportunity for the world to heal itself & come together as one single human race. Be flexible, communicate often, and listen to your team members. Let’s awaken to a new beginning that resonates with nothing but peace, love, and compassion for each other.
