At Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI, Abraham & Thakore presented “Warp & Weft,” a refined study in traditional Indian drapes reimagined for modern wearers. Dhoti and lungi forms — long celebrated for ease and cultural permanence — were transformed into sharp, globally relevant silhouettes: handkerchief skirts, baby-doll tops, and occasion-ready adaptations that retained softness while shifting purpose.

Ikat appeared in 100% Tencel, flowing with new lightness while honouring its textile roots. Womenswear embraced subtle glamour — sequins, metallic embroidery, and precise paneling — pairing mini dresses with trench-inspired outerwear or slit palazzos with sculpted peplum tops. Menswear balanced tailoring and comfort, with Bundgalas, bandies, and kurtas elevated through gleaming restraint.

Veer Pahariya

Veer Pahariya closed the showcase in relaxed white trousers and an embellished Bundgala — a modern sartorial statement rooted in heritage.

“Warp & Weft brings together heritage and contemporary, structure and flow,” the designers shared. “It reinterprets the essence of Indian clothing in a modern vocabulary.”

A&T distilled past and future into a clean, disciplined aesthetic — versatility for day, polish for evening, and identity at its core.
