Base Camp Festival India: A landmark adventure initiative by Nungshi and Tashi

Among its several popular adventure destinations, Uttarakhand can now take pride in being the host of yet another adventure event, right next to its capital Dehradun. Yes, the recently concluded BaseCamp Festival India (BCFI) 2019 drew participants from all over India and abroad.

Planned to be annual event and hosted by the multi Guinness record holder twins Nungshi and Tashi at their adventure institute called the Outdoor Leadership School, the inaugural festival was held last year October and was kick started by the famous ‘Roadies’ twins Raghu and Rajiv.

The three day event aims to celebrate adventure spirit, popularize outdoors lifestyle among Indians and build life skills through great outdoors. It is co-sponsored by NungshiTashi Foundation and Outdoor Leadership School with special focus on girl participation. Some selected girls from marginalized backgrounds are given free entry to benefit from the range of confidence and knowledge building activities of the festival such as hiking, trekking, wall climbing, rapelling, canyoneering, MTB cycling, adventure racing, navigation, obstacle course, campfire, music, screening of adventure films, night camping and many other adventures.

As India’s friendliest and only of its kind adventure festival Base Camp Festival India is getting very popular and has once again brought Uttarakhand on world map of adventure tourism. This year the festival is planned in summers from 7 May to 11 May 2020. And this year it is planned to be mega festival.

Those interested in using their vacations purposefully are invited to join for half a week amidst mesmerizing wilderness of Mussoorie foothills straddling tons river and a 40 feet waterfall. And they should be prepared to try bundles of new adventures, to be inspired by tales of exploration, and partying under the stars!
