Couture Grand Finale

Rahul Mishra to Close Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 as Nexxus New York Makes Its Fashion Week Debut

One of Indian fashion’s most influential designers will bring Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 to a close when Rahul Mishra presents the Closing Show on July 29 at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Presented by Nexxus New York in association with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the finale also marks the premium haircare brand’s first appearance at the country’s premier couture event.

Few designers have redefined Indian couture for a global audience quite like Rahul Mishra. Revered for transforming traditional craftsmanship into contemporary luxury, his collections are distinguished by painstaking hand embroidery, innovative textiles and nature-inspired storytelling. Every garment reflects the skill of Indian artisans while speaking a design language that resonates on international runways.

This year’s closing presentation promises to celebrate that enduring philosophy, bringing together fashion, craftsmanship and beauty in a showcase where hair becomes an extension of couture rather than simply the finishing touch.

For Nexxus New York, the collaboration signals an ambitious entry into the world of Indian luxury fashion.

Ashwini Rao, Vice President, Hindustan Unilever, described the partnership as a natural meeting point of science and artistry.

“We are thrilled to bring Nexxus New York’s salon-grade sophistication to the Indian runway as the official hair partner at Hyundai India Couture Week in association with FDCI. Our collaboration with Rahul Mishra represents a convergence of Nexxus’ scientific expertise in haircare and Rahul’s unparalleled couture craftsmanship, treating hair not just as a finishing touch, but as a fluid, premium extension of couture itself. As we continue to shape a future-fit premium haircare landscape in India, this partnership marks a defining moment for Nexxus, translating our hair artistry into an unforgettable high-fashion spectacle.”

Welcoming the partnership, Sunil Sethi, Chairman, FDCI, said the council looks forward to a long association with the premium haircare brand while acknowledging Hindustan Unilever’s continued support.

“We are delighted to begin our association with Nexxus New York at Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 and look forward to a long journey together. We remain grateful for the continued support of Hindustan Unilever and are overjoyed to have internationally recognised FDCI designer Rahul Mishra close this year’s edition of Hyundai India Couture Week.”

For Rahul Mishra, the presentation goes beyond a runway collection. It is an exploration of timeless beauty, craftsmanship and the emotional legacy of India’s artistic traditions.

“I have always been fascinated by the idea that the most enduring forms of beauty are those that continue to reveal something new every time we encounter them. When I look at India’s ancient art forms, I am drawn not only to their extraordinary craftsmanship, but to the emotion, patience and imagination they continue to embody centuries later. Those are the values that have always guided my work, and they remain at the heart of the pieces we are presenting at Hyundai India Couture Week in association with FDCI.”

He added that the collection celebrates the enduring language of his fashion house through signature hand embroidery, intricate craftsmanship and stories woven into every creation.

“It is also especially meaningful to partner with Nexxus on their first foray into fashion. It is a collaboration built on a shared belief that transformation is never abrupt, but a quiet, continuous process of becoming.”

Scheduled from July 23 to July 29, Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 will once again spotlight India’s finest couture talent, with Rahul Mishra’s closing showcase expected to serve as a fitting finale that celebrates heritage, craftsmanship and the evolving language of luxury fashion.
