SUPIMA x AFEW Rahul Mishra Rewrite the Luxury Code

At Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI, a quiet shift unfolded — one that puts natural fibres back at the centre of Indian luxury fashion. SUPIMA, known globally for its premium American-grown cotton, hosted an intimate fireside conversation with designer Rahul Mishra, exploring how beauty and intention elevate cotton from an everyday essential to a material of modern couture.

The discussion, moderated by fashion journalist Kimi Dangor, wasn’t about trends or theatrics. It was about how innovation and heritage coexist. Marc Lewkowitz, President & CEO of SUPIMA, spoke about the brand’s long-term commitment to sustainability and quality.
“Cotton has always been a part of luxury,” he shared, “but when you enhance its fibre and pair it with true craftsmanship, it becomes an expression of creativity and timeless elegance.”

For Rahul Mishra, the partnership is rooted in shared philosophy.
“Collaborations like this allow us to reimagine what luxury can be — responsible, refined, and deeply connected to craft,” he reflected.

The conversation revealed a simple truth: luxury today is as much about what a garment stands for as how it looks. When a natural fibre like cotton becomes a storyteller — shaped by artisans, thoughtful design, and responsible sourcing — it transforms the way we define “high fashion.”

As SUPIMA and AFEW Rahul Mishra continue this creative alliance, their work signals where Indian luxury is heading next: global in its innovation, intimate in its craftsmanship, and grounded in nature.

Next season in Mumbai, the collaboration will take the runway — a moment that promises to further expand the narrative of cotton in contemporary luxury.
