The much-awaited, talent discovery program- GenNext has announced two winners who will be showcasing their collections at the upcoming FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week which is scheduled in October this year
GenNext is one of the most popular and credible platforms for upcoming designers and so far, GenNext has established more than 200 plus designers. For its 32nd batch, the two winning designers- 32-year-old Deepit Chugh and 28-year-old Twinkle Hanspal were chosen through a virtual jury selection process. These selected designers get the opportunity to present their collection at the FDCI X LFW joint fashion week.
The applicants were required to submit a video montage of their ensembles to complement their presentation. The shortlisted applicants presented their collections digitally to an expert jury comprising Tarun Tahiliani, Priya Tanna, Aashti Bhartia , Director of Ogaan ; Sumati Mattu, Head of Innovations, Lakmé; GenNext Mentor Sabina Chopra and Head of RISE Fashion & Lifestyle- Jaspreet Chandok.
The INIFID presents GenNext program has been recognized for identifying and providing young and talented designers an opportunity to enhance their skills and take centre stage in the fashion industry. This season too, rising stars will have the opportunity to showcase their ensembles to the world, virtually.
Announcing the latest batch of GenNext designers, Sumati Mattu, Head of Innovations, Lakmé said, “Lakmé Fashion Week and the GenNext program is meant to provide the most concrete platform and recognition to young and rising designers. Bearing our GenNext flag high, we look forward to the 32nd batch of GenNext designers showcasing at the upcoming edition of FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week.”
