Jayhaan releases EP ‘Zaiavli’ in association with Most Wanted Records

Jayhaan is all set to debut his new hip-hop EP ‘Zaiavli’ featuring MC Azad, 100RBH, Darpan, DJ Hi2, Prasad Gaitonde, and Thuk. Most Wanted Records has always endeavoured to curate innovative hip-hop content and this time they have collaborated with Jayhaan to release ‘Zaiavli’, an EP that blends old-school hip hop with Indian muscial elements. Infact, Jayhaan is amongst the first from the Parsi community to release a hip-hop EP.

The name ‘Zaiavli’ itself is a play on words of a very popular Marathi slang. The tracks can enliven any place with its hard-hitting beats and inspired lyrics in the ‘Mumbaiya’ style of hip hop. While the music is contemporary, the EP is sensational and makes you want to get you into dance mode. The lyrics have a modern twist to some classical roots.

Jayhaan is a priest by day and a DJ by night. His budding career in music has already spearheaded the entry of Jersey Club in India which was previously alien to the Indian Music Industry. Using this momentum, he is changing the face of electronic music by fusing the sounds of Western Jersey Club, bass music and trap, with Indian instruments and melodies.

Along with Jersey Club, Jayhaan performs and produces Hip-Hop and Trap, working closely with 7Bantai’Z, Dopeadelicz, Darpan, and MC Azad. Jayhaan recently released his first album titled ‘Jadibooty’, showcasing his love for bass music as well as his roots in the form of Indian folk music.

Sharing about the Zaiavli, Jayhaan shares Zaiavli EP is my debut hip hop project & as producing hip hop is more creativity over originality for me, I’ve sampled a bunch of popular old school Bollywood songs into hard hitting beats. Sampling has been a big part of what hip hop is today & I just want my people to know the difference between plagiarism & sampling, so I hope this is a step in the right direction. The name itself is a play on words of a very popular Marathi slang, which is mostly used when something just catches you by surprise.”

Speaking about the release, Most Wanted Records, Executive VP, Shantanu Pujari shares “Jayhaan is a super talented producer who has shown us different styles of music he can create. And he has one of the most underrated and gifted emcees like Mc Azad, Darpan and 100 rbh in one ep . With sure bangers like parichay and high hay this ep is a unique contribution to Indian hip hop

Excited about the release, MC Azad shares “I have really enjoyed and I feel proud of making India’s first drum and bass marathi rap with Zaiavli Cypher. I really enjoyed working with jayhan ,100rbh & Darpan. I am also looking forward to make more Eps like this.”‘Zaiavli’ is being released by Most Wanted Records, a division of Sippy Media LLP.

The Early Childhood

”I have 5 members in my family. My Dad- a Chief Officer in the Indian Railways. My Mom- a homemaker. I have two sisters and one brother. And I am really grateful for all of their support and love to make me what I am today. I am born in Khatauli, Uttar Pradesh. My childhood is mostly spent in the streets of Khatauli, since my Dad is in Railway, our family had to move a lot from one city to another every 4 years.  I had a struggling childhood as it was hard for me to fit in every society immediately. Growing up is what really fascinated me. Every stage was beautiful. And with every year, it’s getting better. I have done my bachelors in film making from Asian Academy of Film and Television, Noida.”

The Making of Actor/Director

“I would say it’s in my blood. Because I started acting from a very early age. Basically, I was interested in film making and of course my stories. So I did everything from directing to shooting, from acting to editing. It was quite challenging but I loved taking all these different jobs which I realised is not a one person’s job. Even now I never miss a chance to act in the films.”

The Making of a Web series

“Making a Web series is not the concern here! The actual challenges are to do the VFX which we are mainly popular for. Presenting everything exactly how you thought in your mind is very hard when it comes to VFX and Superheroes. There are lot of things like superhero costumes, set designs, makeup which is very different and unique compared to what people see in normal series. But as long as I have my team with me, I believe everything is possible.”

Dushyant Kapoor (02)

The Process

“A lot of planning, plotting, and graphics takes place before the final products to be released… Literally, pre production is actually more important for us to get the final products ready. We just can’t shoot anywhere, and anytime, it requires a lot of planning, Reece, Graphics etc. Basically, we have to create the VFX shots first, only then we can shoot further. When everything is done, we put our best efforts to make our graphics looks real which really takes a lot of time, money and most importantly, patience.”

The Future of Web series

“The future is pretty good and positive.New story tellers and film makers, actors and actresses will get the chance to show their talent from many platforms. More and more people are getting connected to web so it has great future ahead. And I believe it will be really good for everyone.”

Dushyant Kapoor

The Choice of ‘Super Heroes’ in the Content

“Because everything else is being done by others. I always wanted to do what I am doing. So, I am just living my dream. I am living in the world of fantasy and superheroes which was once my dream.”

The Recent Venture – ‘The Return of Doraemon’

“I am a big fan of Doraemon.  I watched it many times. When the last episode of Doraemon came on YouTube, I downloaded it from a Cyber Cafe and watched it at home. It was so amazing. I was in tears. I wanted to make a film with real characters. But I was too young and I didn’t have access to many equipments.  At the time, I was in Std V1. Recently during the Lockdown I got a lot of time to think about my past and I got a chance to revive and realise one of my dreams to make this film. I wonder why nobody has ever tried to make that in 15 years. But yeah I tried and people really appreciated. I am really happy that it has crossed 2 Million Views.”

The Memorable Moments

“Well, there are many! I would like to mention this particular moment which happened in Mumbai. I went there for work, I was just sitting with my friends at the Dominos, and a guy came and told me that he is a big fan of me. I was shocked because I wasn’t much known at that time; I only had 40 Thousand subscribers on YouTube.  At that moment I was so proud of me when he said, ‘the future of Indian Superheroes is in good hands’. This is what inspires me even now.

Secondly when my film “Briefcase” was selected in Jagran Film Festival. That was a huge honour for me.”

Dushyant Kapoor

 The Future Projects

“I am delighted to let you know that I am working on a series where a lot of Indian Superheroes are coming together. And this you might call “Indian Avengers”. The teaser will be out by the end of next month.

Another project I am working on is a Drama thriller Series “ CHALAVA” with Actor Aashay Srivastava & Avdeep Sidhu, which would be quite different than any of the other projects that I have done.

Apart from these I am working on very interesting Short Films which are targeted to the young audience, As Doraemon was a hit, I am thinking to bring more content like this. The best way to recreate  and relive childhood memories.”.

The Dream Project

“My dream project is the Film, Mahakaal. I am trying to start this from the last seven years and I wanted to make it really really good. So I have been learning, now I guess I am ready to get on with the production. And I hope it will kickstart again by the end of this year.”

 About Dushyant Kapoor

He is an actor-director and singer who is totally into making super hero series and making his own music album . He brings back ‘Doraemon’ the globally loved cartoon with a new twist. At  a young age of 23, Dushyant has not just been known for his acting, he has often taken up the roles of a writer, director, editor, singer, producer, and composer. Dushyant has also worked on multiple projects with actor/anchor Maniesh Paul which got him multiple awards in film festivals around the country. Dushyant has also started a production house along with Ankit Vatsa under the name of ‘DK FILMS’ which they rightly like to call it as a “destination of Indian Superheroes”His most recent venture ‘The Return of Doraemon’ recently crossed over 1 million views in just a period of few weeks; this surely speaks about the good and rich quality of content they produce.

Hospital Safety

Tips for patients while visiting a hospital

By Dr Anita Mathew, Senior Consultant, Physician & Infectious Disease Specialist,

Fortis Hospital, Mulund

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to grip the city of Mumbai, however the lockdown restrictions across the city have been gradually eased up to ensure movement for essential services. In the past few months, patient chose to delay non-critical and elective surgeries due to the fear of infection, leaving plenty of lives in peril. As healthcare front liners continue to battle the pandemic, hospitals are well equipped to tackle a host of other health concerns to deliver high-acuity care. From OPD’s to full-fledged hospital services now resumed to normalcy, many patients are still fearful if visiting a hospital is safe or not.

Dr Anita Mathew

The first and foremost precaution is to maintain social distancing and safety for yourself and others in mind. Follow guidelines issued by governing bodies and medical authorities, and seek medical aid on time. Visit your doctor when necessary, avoid delaying treatment as prolonging an issue may aggravate the condition. Here are a few steps to ensure patients safety right from your doorstep to the hospital and back:

  • https://scontent.fbom26-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/102288105_2801524986622516_5512244779548672000_o.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=gwaiE1yIzpEAX9dL0fh&_nc_ht=scontent.fbom26-1.fna&oh=d715b8adcb520b8840b3dae255013faa&oe=5F919185Before stepping out make sure to take prior appointments with your doctor. It is strongly advised to do so to avoid queuing up; call the hospital to check if appointments are to be booked online or over the phone. Wearing a mask is mandatory, carry an alcohol-based sanitizer, gloves as well as wet wipes. It is best to carry your own bottle of water from home
  • To accompany you to your appointment, it is recommended that only one other healthy person comes along to avoid overcrowding at the center. Those experiencing any symptoms of cough and cold should preferably stay indoors. Pregnant women, older adults and children should refrain from visiting a hospital unless it is of utmost urgency
  • For your commute to the hospital, go by your own vehicle if you have one. If you are to take public transport, it is best to pre-book a cab/auto rickshaw along with the person accompanying you. Make sure to sanitize your hands if you have touched any surfaces and avoid touching your face, eyes or mouth at all times while outdoors
  • To pay for your transport, go cashless. Digital transactions will minimize the risk of you coming in exchange with paper money
  • While at the hospital, the first thing you should do is ensure at least two feet space between you and another person. There could be a high possibility of you coming in contact with infected people even though hospitals have dedicated wards, it is best to practice social distancing and safety. Wash your hands with soap and water before and after meeting with your doctor
  • Even though hospitals adhere to immense sanitation practices, pay attention to protocols recommended by the staff
  • For your consultation, carry all necessary health documents and reports to avoid wasting your appointment time. You may write down all the details to be shared with your consultant or the questions you’d wish to ask to avoid any uncertainty or confusion. Share all information pertaining to your medical history or condition for accurate diagnosis and treatment
  • If one has symptoms of fever then to go to dedicated fever clinics which is present in most of the hospitals rather than going to the routine OPD. This reduces the risk of COVID-19 to others in the event if one has it

HERE ARE SOME MUST-ASK QUESTIONS FOR WHEN YOU MEET THE DOCTOR:

  • Discuss the hygiene practices that you follow, at home and in a social setting, check with the doctor if you are missing a crucial hygiene practice that could help prevent contracting the COVID19 infection
  • Discuss the follow-up appointment, check with the doctor if you could opt for a tele/ video consultation over a physical consult at the hospital

TIPS TO FOLLOW AT THE HOSPITAL:

  • Do not wear mask with valves, these are strictly to be avoided. Opt for a three ply homemade or store-bought mask instead
  • To make a payment at the hospital, cashless payments are the recommended mode of transaction
  • For your commute back home, follow the same steps as your commute to the hospital – follow the same safety measures
  • Once home, take off your shoes at the door, disinfect any door knobs or surfaces you may have touched. Safely dispose off your mask, head to the bathroom and remove your clothes. Add them to warm water with detergent to wash. Take a bath with warm water using soap and scrub thoroughly

Hospitals are now allowing limited visitation, follow the guidelines and do not breach or create problems, it will only put you at risk. Also, it is important for you to not fear the virus; let your doctor be your guide. Stay cautious, stay safe.

Go Local for Wholesome Nutrition

2-day Web-Symposium

With the Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) coming to an end, the clear message delivered was- ‘Sthaniya Aaharam Sampannam Poshanam’ (Local Food For  Wholesome Nutrition), in a 2-day web-symposium  jointly held by Indian Council of Medical Research- National Institute of Nutrition and Tata Sampann.

The tone was set when in her inaugural address Dr. Hemalatha R, Director, ICMR- National Institute of Nutrition said “The National Institute of Nutrition (Indian Council of Medical Research), has been a strong proponent of dietary diversity and food based approach to tackle the problems of under nutrition, over nutrition and non-communicable diseases. Inadequate consumption of different food groups including fruit, vegetables, milk, and protein rich foods could lead to a lot of health issues including micronutrient deficiencies which could in turn lead to inflammation, overweight, obesity, NCDs as well as under nutrition”. In her talk she also alluded to the need to be vocal for local foods.

A stellar line-up of speakers brought to the fore India’s rich and varied food wisdom and diversity in four panel discussions that covered

a) Local food for Total Nutrition

b) In pursuit of health, factors influencing food choices of today

c) Can convenience, taste and nutrition co-exist?

d) The journey of Indian food and nutrition through history.

The eminent speakers addressed many questions that baffle consumers around food, while busting myths and sharing age-old wisdom and advice. The takeaway was that the grains, pulses, legumes, vegetables, fruits etc that one gets across regions in India, are packed with more than a punch to address nutritional demand of Indians.

Sanjeev Kapoor, Chef onboard Tata Sampann, who was a part of the panel discussion on the history of Indian foods by ICMR-National instituite of Nutrition & Tata Sampann said  “When I got into this field, there was a difference between homemade food and restaurant food- as I got more into it, I realized that we are deriding the homemade food and giving more importance to restaurant food. We all have the knowledge about the benefits and goodness of various foods, but with time, some new fad comes in and we tend to forget the importance of the already existing ingredients and start taking it for granted!”

Richa Arora, President, Packaged Foods, Tata Consumer Products, India said “The Tata Sampann brand is committed to nutrition by bringing traditional Indian food wisdom to the modern Indian plate. Right from where we source, to how we deliver, we are focussed on delivering wholesome and complete nutritional superiority in every product, and  nothing but the best to the people of India. We are delighted to partner ICMR-NIN in the ‘Sthaniya Aaharam Sampannam Poshanam’ symposium that highlights the role of local Indian ingredients and their wholesome health benefits. The knowledge exchanged in this forum, on traditional food wisdom and the science behind it, is a great resource for consumer’s too to make the right food choices, full of nutrition and health.”

With some of the best minds in health, food and nutrition coming together in engaging conversations, the symposium established that  Indians need to look no further than that food eaten across ages in our country for wholesome and complete poshan. Going back local foods and traditional, wholesome Indian thali can mean a return of the much-needed food diversity in our meals, which is a great way to address not just malnutrition, but also hidden hunger that is a growing concern for health in India.

About the Project

Craft of Design& Ability to Transform Spaces.

No stone was left unturned in curating a space that projected an infinite sense of aesthetics to the expanse. A home is synonymous to a meticulously designed space, formulated to create a realm of tranquil and solace.

The plethora of intangible factors of design given equal importance as the tangible ones

Built-in a commodious 2950 square feet area, the Pashine Residence originally was a 4 bedroom apartment; amalgamated now to formulate a 3 BHK by demolishing the common wall encasing one of the bedrooms. The 3 bedroom apartment comprises of the entrance lobby, bar, dining area, a master bedroom, 2 individual bedrooms for their sons, a living room with a large balcony that not only provides a dedicated space to unwind but also gives a marvelous view outside. The theme followed throughout the house is modern contemporary and a remarkable attempt has been made to make the house as maintenance-free as possible.

An elaborate impression created right from the beginning

As one enters the house a tall mirror cabinet with a niche is constructed, which is mainly used to store all the essential items. The niche is well lit for a fantastic display of luxury while also making the passage look wider than it is. Moving further an intricate Buddha painting on the outer wall of the master bedroom greets the visitors. Before the master bedroom, there is also a provision of a glass door that can be used to privatize the area whenever required.  Proceeding towards the right, the walls of the living room were broken down and replaced with vertical wooden pillars to give the space an open edge while adhering to its boundaries. The seating in the living room is inclined towards clean lines with an invasion of subtle sophistication. Two revolving chairs, along with a sofa and a white coffee table complete the essence of the space. The living area further opens up to a spacious balcony that offers a splendid view along with ample ventilation merging the space with nature. With the intent to be able to host a small gathering of friends, Anurag & Pallavi created a common open space without barriers.

An aura of elegance with simplicity

The splendid open dining area, overlooking the living room on one side and the kitchen on the other, is accentuated with an overhead pendant light. Adjacent to the dining area is the intricately designed bar counter that overlooks a huge floor to ceiling window. The house has a sense of harmony & openness that runs throughout the entire design and décor. Opposite the dining table is a ‘wonder wall’ that camouflages with the utmost ease, two essential components of the household. Made out of wooden sliders, it serves as the perfect cover for the TV unit and a mini-library.  A cleverly hidden storage has been integrated inside and made to look like a usual wall panel. In addition to that, the son’s bedroom door is also crafted out of the same wall serving as the perfect disguise.

Delving deeper into the design, the pristine neutral color scheme of the living room is carried into the modular kitchen as well. To add a little bling, silver black mosaic has been used in the kitchen. An attractive contrast has been created with white shutters for counters on the underside and translucent shutters for the overhead counters. The use of open shelves minimizes the bulk of overhead storage and the black granite marble countertop accents a stark contrast to the white interiors. Elaborating on the flooring design a common theme has been followed throughout the expanse. All the common areas have Italian flooring & all the bedrooms are done up in wooden flooring.

The bedrooms follow the narrative of a modern minimalistic residence that is made with a consistent expression throughout. The primary bedroom or the master bedroom displays a peculiar subtleness and exudes a warm tranquil vibe. It has a life-sized portrait of the couple which is a window panel. The master bedroom has a terrace attached to it which is beautifully decorated with plantations & adept with outdoor wicker furniture for seating purposes. The elder son’s bedroom is a marvel in white that defines his persona aptly. The bed back is done up in white leather cladding diffused with lights. The decor of the room is predominantly white which complements his peaceful nature. However, the younger son’s bedroom is a total contradiction. A play of colors and amalgamation of contrasts mark the wonderful charm of the bedroom. An interesting feature of his room is that the immovable furniture is more on the lines of a mature color palette and material. The colorful furniture can be changed and replaced as per requirement when he grows up. The room also has a wardrobe made of the whiteboard on one panel and can also be used for storage purposes. In addition to this, the residence has a family TV room that is used to relax. It has a unique statement piece of furniture in the form of a grey quirky armchair and an L-shaped sofa. The prayer room forms a part of the central area of the residence comprising of a utility cabinet, used for various purposes.
