Khadi must be promoted via e-commerce and Government e-marketplace. Sonal Jindal with Ajay Dahiya(Director/ In charge State office, Delhi) in discussion over the scope of promoting Khadi into the world market as a sustainable fabric.

STERLING RESERVE MUSIC PROJECT LAUNCHES DEBUTANTE VADE WITH A LOVETRACK ‘YOU FOR SURE’ FEATURING AWEDI

Sterling Reserve Music Project launches “You for Sure”, a debut track composed and by electronic producer and songwriter, VADE and singer and songwriter, AWEDI.

The melodic, playful track marks the first lyrical collaboration between Vade and Awedi. The song, “You For Sure,” is reminiscent of the first love in one’s life and the moments shared between the couple.

In the initial stage of its making, the track was an instrumental melody arranged by Vade.  Vade and Awedi exchanged ideas regarding the theme of the song and a few studio sessions later, they had completed the lyrics together and recorded the track. Vade evolved the initial drop to a more dance oriented one resulting in the definitive sound of the track.

The music video, in sync with the song’s theme, revolves around looking back at your first love and the first moments experienced with them. Creatively led by Harman Singh Singha, this is his debut music video production and features contemporary dance artists Eden Pereira and Sonakshi Amitabh, with choreography led by Kush Gupta. The video has been directed by Sahir Raza and Medium Rare Productions.

Speaking about the song, Vade said, “I’m glad my debut release, “You For Sure,” found a home at the Sterling Reserve Music Project. It’s a special song for Awedi and I and we are happy to work with a platform like Sterling Reserve Music Project to put it out.”

Speaking about the song, Awedi said, “You For Sure is a simple song with a great vibe. Vade and I had a lot of fun making this one. I’m glad it found the right platform with the Sterling Reserve Music Project. Hope everyone loves it as much as Vade and I do.”

DPS RK Puram celebrated 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi

CELEBRATING 150 YEARS OF MAHATMA GANDHI

“By education I mean an all-round drawing of the best in child and man in mind, body and spirit.” – Mahatma Gandhi

On the 2nd of October, 2019, D.P.S R.K. Puram hosted a variety of cultural performances and competitions to “Commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi”.

The event began with the unveiling of a relief painting of Mahatma Gandhi by the Principal, Vice Principals, Headmistresses and School appointments. As part of the “Swachh Bharat Mission”, a cleanliness drive was undertaken by the teachers and students. This initiative was a step further to achieve Mahatma’s vision of hygiene and health. This was followed by tree plantation outside the school premises. The SDMC schools from sector 4 and sector 5 were invited to be a part of this celebration.

The Cultural Programme commenced with a melodious rendition by students of “We Shall Overcome” and its Hindi version “Hum Honge Kamyab”. Their harmonious voices in sync created a vibrant atmosphere. Vanita Sehgal, Principal, D.P.S. R.K. Puram, was  invited on stage to address the gathering. She urged the students to adopt the Gandhian principles of peace and non-violence in their everyday lives and follow them righteously. She highlighted the importance of truth and motivated the students, juniors and seniors alike, to “speak the truth everyday”. The Principal along with the Vice Principal,  Padma Srinivasan released the 2019-20 edition of the History Magazine, ‘Bapu@150’.

On 1st October 2019, a team comprising of 46 students of Class X AND XI from D.P.S. R.K. Puram performed a play titled ‘Bapu Yahan Hai’ at the Commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi  at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath. The play centered around the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and their relevance in contemporary times. The staging in school aroused the spirit of patriotism  amongst the children as they applauded enthusiastically.

The Vice Principals and Headmistresses, praised the efforts of the students and encouraged them to inculcate the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi in order to truly pay respect to him. The Cultural Programme concluded with the National Anthem. The Departments of the school organised interactive events that sought to teach values and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi in events like Turncoat Debate, Slam Poetry, Code Breaker, Science Quiz, Business Plan, Sell Your Wares,  ‘कविता पाठ’, Khadi In Style ,Swimming and Athletics ,Digital Poster Making,Classical Dance,Instrumental Music,BookMark and Book Jacket Designing were conducted and students actively participated in them. The winners were encouraged with medals and certificates.

The stars arrived on the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater dazzling onlookers in this season’s latest diamond jewelry trends, particularly statement earrings, layered necklaces and timeless diamond classics. Emmy nominee Mandy Moore of This Is Us looked sleek and elegant wearing an off-the-shoulder gown adorned by white diamond statement pieces in the form of cascading diamond earrings and stacked diamond eternity rings.

Varun Dhawan to star in a music video with budding hip-hop artists | Breezer Vivid Shuffle

After touring 10 cities across the country and with an international round in Bangkok, India’s hip-hop dance festival, conceptualized by OML, Breezer Vivid Shuffle, concluded Season 3 with a smashing finale last night on 21st September at Famous Studio, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai. Varun Dhawan, Breezer Vivid Shuffle’s Ambassador and fellow hip-hop enthusiast, announced Bfab Crew as the winners of Crew Showcase category of Season 3, along with winners Eshwar Tiwari AKA Bboy Wild Child (Breaking category) and Neeraj (popping category). The winners bagged a cash prize, the highest for any hip-hop dance festival in India, the chance to go to an international dance festival, the opportunity to feature in an exclusive music video alongside Varun Dhawan, and the chance to perform at BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender, the happiest music festival.
 
Finalists this year included 16 participants (breaking), 16 participants (popping), 64 participants (crew showcase) featuring entries from Dubai, Philippines and Thailand. This year, the festival saw 7 regional rounds including 1 international round, 20 workshops, 10 after parties and 1 grand finale!
 
This year, the festival witnessed participation from nearly 1500 number of participants across the country and around the world. Nearly 5000+ hip-hop lovers converged at their workshops and afterparties throughout, which featured names like Melvin Louis, Himanshu Dulani and Sagar Bora, Naezy, Gullygang, Malfnktion, Incink Records and Gully Gang Records, etc.
It was a truly grand finale with terrific performances by global dance champions Kings United, electronic artist Yung.Raj, and desi hip-hop collective Swadesi. The finale also showcased performances by international artists such as Kid David from Step Up 3D, Rashaad Hasaani Pearson and Emmy Award winner – Hok.  The competition was launched earlier this June in Mumbai, with an exclusive secret cypher party hosted by Varun Dhawan, which saw crazy, fun moments with the best of the hip-hop community.

HIGHLIGHTS

In the Photography section, exhibitions curated by Ravi Agarwal will explore the concept of staged photography that flits between reality and fiction, focusing on works that employ various sorts of strategies and techniques to tell a story. Rahaab Allana’s trans-media curatorial project draws on the aesthetic ideologies and approaches to image-making and materiality as cultivated by the Bauhaus, which celebrates 100 years in 2019, while looking at lens-based practices in South Asia.

The Dance discipline, curated by Leela Samson and Mayuri Upadhya engages a vast range of traditional Indian dance forms, resulting in a seamless balance between music, dance and drama. Leela Samson’s projects have a strong focus on gender and identity, while Mayuri Upadhya’s projects emphasise the power of imagination through dance and storytelling, as well as contemporary forms of dance such as hip hop.

Theatre performances curated by Atul Kumar and Arundhati Nag this year are more interactive in nature, with immersive theatrical experiences through the use of alternate spaces, creating interventions in public spaces and offering the audience new ways of creating a dialogue. Exploring the idea of ‘Home’, this year’s projects will also include a series of productions introducing toddlers and infants to the theatre, and will also feature collateral events highlighting the creative presence of marginalised communities.

The Music discipline curated by Aneesh Pradhan and Sneha Sneha Khanwalkar will explore the gamut of musical traditions in India, as well as their sources of inspiration. The stage will be set for a range of concerts featuring international collaborations and home-grown talent. In addition, there will be unique sound experiences across venues that showcase the cross-currents between sound, visuals, space and technology.

Pramod Kumar KG and Kristine Michael curators for this year’s Craft discipline will have a fresh approach as compared to previous editions. Pramod’s project will examine the creation and making of Jamdani fabrics, both in its weaving, choice of raw materials, patterns, designs and the end-product. Kristine Michael’s project will discuss artistic modernism in contemporary ceramics and glass-making practices in India in response to the growing interest and global recognition of non-Western craft.

Curated by Rahul Akerkar and Prahlad Sukhtankar, in the culinary arts section of the Festival, visitors will explore various aspects of sustainable living and practice in the Culinary Arts section. With multiple workshops, collaborations and events with a focus on local produce and regional flavours, the Festival moves away from the idea of food being a means to sustenance and discovers the different possibilities of food.
 

Projects will be further activated by diverse collateral programming including panel discussions, children’s programmes, and workshops for the differently-abled. These initiatives are an integral part of the Foundation’s key mission of making the arts accessible and developing arts audiences both in numbers and in diversity. Unique activations in the core disciplines of Craft, Culinary Arts, Music, Photography, Visual Arts, Dance and Theatre, intend to invigorate dissipating and marginalised traditional art forms, whilst the more contemporary projects will address significant social issues.

The 100 projects this year will be accompanied by a series of special projects curated by Nancy Adajania, Anurupa Roy, HH Art Spaces, Harkat Studios, St+art India Foundation, Aradhana Seth and Vidya Shivadas, among several others.

Tipsy shoot begins

 Producers Raju Chadha & Rahul Mittra gave the clap of their next film Tipsy at a suburban hotel in Mumbai yesterday. An adventure thriller, this chick flick is directed by Deepak Tijori and stars Esha Gupta, Daisy Shah, Kainaat Arora, Alankrita Sahai and Nazia Hussain. The film started with a glamorous song choreographed by Caesar featuring all five girls at a massive set in Mumbai after which the shoot will shift to Birmingham, Cardiff & London in England from the 10th of October. Slated for a mid-2020 release, the makers are leaving no stone unturned in making Tipsy a visual treat & a roller coaster ride for the audiences.
