The Ministry of Tourism (Govt. of India) in collaboration with Central Ministries and State Governments inaugurated the 3rd edition of  ‘Paryatan Parv’ in the lawns of Rajpath, New Delhi. The 05 days event is being executed by ‘Ashok Events’, an event division of ITDC (A Public Sector Undertaking).

The inaugural event was graced by Information and Broadcasting Minister Hon’ble Shri. Prakash Javadekar, Petroleum Minister Hon’ble Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, and Tourism Minister, Hon’ble Shri. Prahalad Singh Patel. Other dignitaries present at the occasion were, Shri Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, M/o Tourism and Shri Amit Khare, Secretary, M/o I&B and with other Senior Officials.

Sharing details about one of the most revered cultural event, Mr. Anmol Zutshi, General Manager, Ashok Events, ITDC said, “It’s a matter of immense pride and honour to be designated as the event manager for the Ministry of Tourism. We strive to do our best to promote the rich cultural diversity of India. Numerous events are being organized ranging from Yoga demonstrations, Cultural evenings, Photography competitions; food stalls representing cuisines from all over the country have also been setup.”

Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chef Jitender, In-House Chef, The Ashok, New Delhi used his carving art to pay a fitting tribute to the father of the nation.  He also said, “Through my carvings I wanted to pay homage to Gandhi Ji for his unparalleled contribution to the nation.”

Paryatan Parv is open to all nationals, and will continue till 06th October, 2019 at the lawns of Rajpath, New Delhi.

Lalit Arpan Festival 2019

Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri Civil Aviation and  Guru Shovana Narayan (Padmashri), Dr. Jyotsna Suri and Shri Harish Narula announced the 18th edition of the Lalit Arpan Festival of Asavari was held on 30th September and continued day 2  at 7.00 pm at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.  

 

Opening with a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th year with excerpts from 2 productions on Gandhi, “Mohan and Rambha” (1994) and “Sanmati” (1997) and to Rashtra Kavi on his 111th year, this year the LalitArpan Festival 2019 (18th Edition).

Priyanka Chopra, actor Rohit Suresh Saraf, and Director Shonali were in  Delhi to promote their filmThe Sky is Pink. The event was held at the Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. This movie will hit the box office on 11 October 2019.
The Sky is Pink is a biographical film directed by Shonali Bose and co-produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwvala and Priyanka Chopra under the banner of RSVP Movies, Roy Kapur Films, and Purple Pebble Pictures.
The film is the return of Chopra after a break of three years from Bollywood. It is based on the love story of a couple spanning 25 years, told through the lens of their spunky teenage daughter – Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis.
Present at the event Priyanka Chopra told about her first reaction when she read the whole script, she called her mom and said mom “I Love You”.
Priyanka told about how this name is given to the movie – she said one day Aditi’s( Aisha’s mother in real life  on whose life the movie Is based) son called her and said that, “Mumma teacher punishes me because I have not drawn blue color to the sky then she said that do not tell your color of the sky to anyone because your sky should have your choice of color in it whatever the color is. “
The young actor Rohit Suresh Saraf tells about his experience of working with Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim and well-known director Shonali Bose.  He said, ” It was an amazing experience, I learned in every conversation and every bit of the movie from Priyanka Mam. She is an amazing actor and Co-star to work with.”\

ICICI Lombard Study Reveals 'Buddycations' — India's New Holiday Mantra

Dosti ki hai toh nibhani padegi’ –a famous dialogue from a classic Bollywood movie. Sounds too cheesy? Absolutely not says, ICICI Lombard. A recent study commissioned by the leading private non-life insurer on the occasion of World Tourism Day reveals that Indians prefer to take vacations with their buddies (aka “Buddycation”) and make compromises individually in order to fulfill promises of the whole group.

Below are a few interesting highlights to give you a glimpse of the findings from the survey.

Highlights:

  • 86% of Indians are likely to enjoy a vacation with their buddies over their family and 49% of respondents chose close friends and work colleagues as ‘ideal travel companions’
  • 72% of respondents perceive vacation as a way to create memorable moments and spending quality time with buddies while only 23% think of a vacation as an escape from routine life
  • 2 out of 5 respondents admitted that they have skipped a site/location because their friend wanted to go somewhere else while 42% admitted that they have always skipped their preferred activity in favor of their friend’s choice
  • In case of conflict, 41% agreed to compromise in favor of their friend’s choices.
