 INIFD UNVEILED THE CREATIVE COLLECTIONS 

 SIX RISING GEN NEXT STARS OPENS LFW

 The 28th Batch of six Gen Next Designers presented by INIFD opened the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 with scintillating collections that captivated the attention of the audience.

SAHIB BHATIA – NEW AGE EMPHASIS

The label ‘Amaaré’ by Sahib Bhatia showcased a sleek men’s wear line, which revealed modern as well as New Age silhouettes with minute touches of Japanese fashion.

Titled  “Rule Breaker” the collection highlighted surface development techniques with cotton and wool.The embroidery was not quite fluid but achieved with small specks of thread work along with pleating and texturing.Sharply cut mandarin collar jackets over kurtas, trench coats, angular openings for coats, asymmetrical kurtas with pants and lots of layering with multiple garments ensured that there were numerous mix and match options that will take the men’s wear into a more innovative mode.

Inspiration

Architecture and his textures were inspired by ancient Australian aboriginal art, which revolves around dots that resist continuous flow.

GAURAV SINGH– BOLD FLOWING SILHOUETTES
Gaurav Singh’s ‘Anatomy’ label comprises layered asymmetric robes over midis, pleated layered creations, long-sleeved asymmetric pin tucked bodice dress and one with pleated and moulded shoulder. had an unconventional design sensibility.
The collection ‘Kadali Patram’, unveils the beauty of a banana leaf’s shape, texture and feel spurred Gaurav’s creativity and the result was a line of soft flowing but bold silhouettes with amazing drapes and dynamic curves.
Extreme construction and moulding for the ensembles was the highlight of the collection.

ANKITA SRIVASTAVA – FOR DIVERSE WOMEN
‘The Little Things Studio’ by Ankita Srivastava,showcases her collection “Not so Perfect” aimed at the sartorial requirements of diverse women that told a story with prints. Presenting saris teamed with casual basic shirts, the collection featured prints that were inspired by painter Henri Matisse’s hand drawings, where the prints revealed the cut out and hand drawn techniques of the painter. The patterns were hand sketched and then turned into screen prints on fabrics.
AKANKSHA AGGARWAL – TEXTURES AND RELAXED CONTOURS
Akanksha Aggarwal’s “Noié Noéi”  collection concentrated on zero wastage.
The collection on the ramp was a fashionable study of contrasts as unconventional volumes and eccentric silhouettes were balanced with imaginative details and amazing intelligent fabrications. Inspired by architecture and colour the garments revealed multiple lines and patterns with diverse shapes.
When it came to surface texturing it was floral patterns and embroidery that was on top of the charts.  While the textures were bold, the silhouettes were relaxed as linen; silk linen, organza and jute brought the creations to life.
MANJUSHREE SAIKIA – HONOURING WEAVERS
Manjushree Saikia’s label ‘Ura Maku’ unveiled her “Dawn to Reality” collection had sharply cut three-piece suits were visualised in fabrics that comprised tea dyed mulberry Eri and Muga silk, as well as Cotton/organic cotton and Chanderi.
Bringing a variety of silhouettes that started with a blazer over a crushed printed hemline dress, the look moved to a coat-dress with pants, a belted trench with wide lapels teamed with wide trousers and a midi wrap skirt with a 2-tone shirt. Lapel-less jacket with pants, a 2-button jacket matched with a midi and a blouse, while a soft trench coat with trousers were great coordinates that could be interchanged for more fashion and style choices.
STANZIN PALMO – BEAUTY OF LADAKH
The ‘Zilzom’ label by Stanzin Palmo was a poetic fashionable offering inspired by the beauty of Ladakh.
For her collection called “Between the Earth and Sky”, Stanzin used the Apricot blossom and Sea Buckthorn as her design inspirations, Stanzin brought in hints of oriental details and then worked with digital art and thread work. Her fabrics were obviously handmade Ladakh pashmina, Ladakh wool, silk, cotton, linen and rayon. The silhouettes were feminine and fluid but the base was the Ladakhi traditional dress called the ‘Goncha’, which featured gathers and wraps as the basis of construction.

DesignUp returns with its fourth edition

Festival in Bengaluru

DesignUp returned with their fourth edition in Bengaluru and this time it is more than just a conference – it is a Festival dedicated to amplifying the design voice within the world of technology with bigger programmes for wider audiences. With over nine events across 5 days, the Festival’s theme remains design-in-tech and design-for-tech that goes beyond just aesthetics and beautification. It will focus on raising the design agenda within tech-companies, tech-led businesses and non-profits through experiential conferences, workshops, screenings, talks, design-pop-ups, salons, and much more from 12 – 16 November 2019 in Bengaluru.

Shailendra Singh announces nationwide rally from Kanyakumari to Kashmir; aims to unite countrymen with his One India. My India Anthem

SPREADING MESSAGE OF UNITY

Shailendra Singh recently released the Anthem4Good titled One India. My India and has received immense love and praise from listeners. Taking his passion for the country a notch higher, he has now announced that he will embark on a nationwide rally bringing together people from diverse backgrounds. Starting right at the bottom tip of Kanyakumari, Shailendra Singh will travel all the way up north to Kashmir spreading the message of unity and love amongst Indians. During this journey, Singh will visit many cities, meet locals, spend time understanding their culture and celebrate unity through his anthem, which beautifully connects Indians through the thread of music. 
“One India My India is not just a song or an anthem for me. It is an emotion, it is a feeling of belonging that connects each one of us and with this yatra, I want to rejoice in that emotion. At a time when we Indians are realising that all of us are one, I believe we must amplify this emotion so the message reaches far and wide. The Anthem4Good showcases the beauty of unity and I want every Indian to soak it in and revel in it“, says Shailendra Singh.

Throughout the duration of the One India My India rally, Singh plans to meet local unsung heroes who have made a difference in their surroundings through their efforts. He plans to capture this inspiring journey on camera and showcase their stories to the world. While he will be cruising alone, he is open to having any number of people joining along as long as they believe in the idea of One India. My India. Shailendra Singh will commence his apolitical rally on the first of October.
The song, Ek Bharat Mera Bharat or One India. My India has been created and produced by Shailendra Singh and Mithoon. Mithoon is best known for popular songs like ‘Tum Hi Ho’, ‘Sanam Re’ and ‘Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga’. The song features the incredible voices of: multiple award-winning Sukhwinder Singh; the supremely talented hitmaker Jubin Nautiyal; and the fresh, sweet voice of newcomer Godswill.
The music video for this anthem has been written and directed by Shailendra Singh, who has produced over 72 feature films, executed over 2,000 of India’s most recognized ad films written and directed award-winning short films like Kache Din, and has created India’s 3rd most-watched short film content channel – Long Story Short Films.

India’s Star Make-up & Hair Academy students created Benchmark in Dubai

Ace Makeup & Hair Star Academy mentored by Bollywood Celebrity Makeup Artist Aashmeen Munjaal recently created another benchmark for the industry. 12 students from Delhi, Gurgaon & Ludhiana based Star Academy got lifetime opportunity to work as Makeup & Hair artists in Fashion event happened in Dubai.

All students who are doing 3 months course to skill themselves in Hair & Makeup industry did makeovers for 31 contestants of Glammon Ms & Mrs. India contest which had its training, grooming and shoots round in 5 days of Dubai. Star Academy students did various early morning makeups for photo-shoot, Red carpet look, bikini round, too late evening National costume look rounds. Besides working hard to various Glamorous looks, they had a gala time in Desert safari, dune bashing, a limousine ride, beach club parties.

Star Student’s work was appreciated, acknowledged & Certified by official dignitaries of Dubai. It was indeed a week of Experience, Internship & enjoyment for Aashmeen Munjaal & her team.

Well, after Dubai, Star Hair & Makeup Academy is all set to showcase their make-up and grooming wonder in New York Fashion Week. Talking about the same, Aashmeen Munjaal stated, “In Dubai, we worked with few dignitaries and government officials. It was our first international internship for students. My students were highly appreciated by the Dubai dignitaries, they received an international certificate for the same. And after this great success, my team is ready and all set to spread their magic in New York Fashion Week, as we got a lot of experience and a lot of exposure. Our student got a lot of confidence and now we are ready enough to step ahead internationally.”

First UP International Film Festival

Varanasi to be the Host

UP International Film Festival will be held from 28 February to 1 March 2020 in Varanasi(Kashi). Political dignitaries – Mr.Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi(Sr. Secretary, RSS),  Mr.Om Birla(Speaker, Parliament of India, LS), Mr.Sripad Yesso Naik (Minister, Govt. Of India), Mr.B.S. Yediyurappa(CM, Karnataka) launched the festival online on 16 August 2019. The festival will witness Directors, Actors, and writers from all over the world.

The festival is organized to promote the tourism and Development of Uttar Pradesh. It will present the art, culture, traditions, and places of tourism interest in U.P., It will be held under the holy guidance of Dr.H.R. Nagendra. Celebrated fashion designer Manish Malhotra partnered with ‘Love & Care’, the brand-new premium fabric wash range from Hindustan Unilever, to present his latest festive collection at the opening night of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter / Festive 2019.

The ‘Love & Care’ range of expert care wash products was launched at the designer’s fashion extravaganza set against the backdrop of fluid fabric and starry gold in an opulent showcase at the Famous Studios. Inspired by Love & Care’s product variants, the show was divided into three sections – silk in jewel tones, wool from Kashmir and cotton in pastel. The showstopper for the evening, Katrina Kaif looked sensational in a velvet emerald green lehenga with gold embellishments and an over exaggerated blouse. Manish Malhotra’s collection MAAHRUMYSHA encompasses the designer’s love for fabrics as he believes fabric is the soulful thread that binds fashion like no other. Romancing the festive mood and crafted for lighter occasions at destination weddings, the collection breaks away from the traditional warmer hues of red and brings in a fresh palette of classic shades such as white, ivory, beige, ochre, grey, salmon as well as signature gold of the label exuding an luscious vibe. A celebration of the sponge trend, the collection showcased long trails and veils with intricate embroidery. Flowy skirts, spectacular tops, edgy crop tops and long tapered tops made their presence felt on the runway. Sharp tailored jackets, dapper bandhgalas for men heighted the glam quotient of the collection.
