Pooja Valeja recently released her book, ‘ A Flight to Catch: A Tale of Unspoken Words’ The storyline is around the two characters who take a trip to Canada with their own agenda but the kind of situations they get into and jump out off, changes their perspectives. Each chapter unveils a different emotion of theirs. A solid mix of Comedy, Suspense, Drama and Romance can make everyone relate to one or the other aspects of it. A dilemma between going forward and holding back. This is a story of Pritz and Patel, and their most unexpected trip together. A trip they had not expected, it just happened or let’s say destiny had wonders in store for them. It’s an interesting rollercoaster of emotions and transformation of a relationship that switches many moulds with a twist in the tail.
Excerpts from an interview with her…
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
From a very young age, I’ve always been passionate about writing. I started with contributing articles to International media. I have always thought of writing one book at least, in this life time, and with a little time on my side, I started penning my thoughts. Little did I know that I would complete the book in about four months? Also another interesting fact is that I visited Canada last December, before the lock down. The memories were fresh.
How long did it take you to write a book?
It nearly took me about 2 1/2 months to pen down all the thoughts. The best part about writing a book was that most of these experiences were dealt by or noticed by me in my personal life. So all I had to do was to pick up a pen and a writing pad, and jot down.
What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
There is no fixed schedule, thoughts come to you naturally. I had kept a handy diary with me and started jotting down thoughts. . Later elaborate on it.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Well I love riding on romance and relationships, with loads of imagination and a cup of coffee
How did you get it published?
I definitely took advice from Mr Pawar, a publisher and author, and now I eventually have it on Amazon and hardcopies through notion publishing.
Where did you get your inspiration ideas for your books? Any autobiographical touch?
Being in the 21st-century, we all deal with a number of relationship issue-the ups and downs. The inspiration to write about two friends came from there. While my personal holiday in Canada definitely gave me an insight. An interesting part in the story, that really happened with me was when I mistakenly landed up in America through a flyover close to Niagara Falls that connects Canada to America, The strange part was that I really did not have my passport also with me but somehow my Innocence saved me.
What do you think makes a good story?
A good story is a mix of feelings and emotions like, comedy, tragedy, sadness, laughter, fear and suspense. I personally think a number of key skills are involved in the story writing process. It needs your full involvement and the characters are made to feel absolutely.
In spite of the book being fiction, there is very little chance of unbelievable situations created.
