Russian Education Fair 2026

Leading Russian Medical Universities Offer Direct Admissions and Expert Guidance to Indian MBBS Aspirants

New Delhi witnessed another significant milestone in international education as the second edition of the 27th Russian Education Fair (REF) 2026 concluded successfully at the Russian House, reinforcing the enduring educational partnership between India and Russia. Organised by Rus Education in collaboration with the Russian Centre, the event welcomed more than 500 students and parents eager to explore opportunities to pursue an MBBS degree at some of Russia’s leading government medical universities.

Bringing together representatives from over 25 prestigious Russian Government Medical Universities, the fair created a unique platform where aspiring medical students could engage directly with senior academic leaders and official university delegates. Among the distinguished participants were Dr. Trifonova Elena Valentinovna, Deputy Director of the Institute of Medicine and Experimental Biology at Pskov State University, and Dr. Zaburdaeva Tatiana Ivanovna, Deputy Director of the Medical Institute at Mari State University, alongside rectors, vice-rectors, deputy deans, directors and international office representatives.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony celebrating the strong educational ties between India and Russia. Addressing students and parents, university delegates emphasised the value of interacting directly with academic institutions to gain authentic insights into admissions, campus life, academic programmes and career opportunities. They encouraged aspiring doctors to use the platform to make informed decisions about their future in medical education.

Speaking during the event, Dr. Trifonova Elena Valentinovna highlighted the importance of education fairs in enabling students to receive accurate information directly from university representatives. Dr. Zaburdaeva Tatiana Ivanovna added that face-to-face engagement helps students and families better understand academic expectations, university life and the opportunities available after graduation.

One of the major highlights of the fair was the personalised counselling sessions conducted by university experts. Students received one-on-one guidance on admissions, eligibility requirements, academic programmes and student life, while many completed their admission formalities on the spot, securing places at some of Russia’s leading government medical universities.

The participating institutions reaffirmed their commitment to delivering internationally recognised medical degrees supported by modern teaching infrastructure, advanced clinical training and comprehensive services for international students. These strengths continue to position Russia as one of the preferred destinations for Indian students seeking quality medical education abroad.

Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal (Dr.) Pawan Kapoor (Retd.), Technical Advisor at Rus Education, said, “India and Russia share a strong and enduring friendship, and education continues to strengthen this bond. The Russian Education Fair provides students with a trusted platform to connect directly with leading Russian universities, helping them make informed decisions about their future.”

Elena Barman, President of the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots, observed that Russia has remained a trusted destination for Indian students for many years. She noted that thousands of Indian students are currently pursuing higher education across Russian universities, benefiting not only from quality education but also from the country’s rich cultural heritage and welcoming academic environment. She added that initiatives such as the fair further strengthen educational cooperation by enabling students to interact directly with official university representatives before making important academic decisions.

Beyond admissions, the event underscored the growing importance of transparent, institution-led guidance in international education. By bringing official university representatives, students and parents together under one roof, the fair promoted meaningful dialogue, reliable information and informed decision-making for aspiring medical professionals.

With more than 33 years of experience, Rus Education continues to strengthen Indo-Russian educational cooperation through university partnerships, academic counselling, student support services and international initiatives. Supported by a network of over 20 offices across India and more than 200 education professionals, the organisation remains one of the country’s trusted facilitators for students pursuing higher education in Russia.

Following its successful New Delhi edition, the Russian Education Fair 2026 will continue its nationwide journey through Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mumbai and Chandigarh before concluding in Guwahati and Patna on 26 July 2026. As it travels across the country, the initiative is expected to connect thousands more aspiring doctors with globally recognised medical universities, further strengthening educational collaboration between India and Russia while opening new pathways to international medical careers.
