Woodpecker Brings a Refreshing Twist to Onam Celebrations at South Side Story 2025

South Side Story 2025, Red FM’s flagship cultural festival, turned the capital into a vibrant slice of South India on 30–31 August at KD Jadhav Wrestling Stadium, New Delhi. The two-day celebration was alive with music, dance, cinema, and the aromas of an authentic Onam Sadhya, giving Delhiites and South Indian expats alike a reason to come together and celebrate the season of harvest.

This year, Woodpecker joined the festivities, adding a refreshing edge to the cultural mosaic. From live performances by icons like Shobana, TM Krishna, The Raghu Dixit Project, Thaikkudam Bridge, Avial, and Sooraj Santhosh to art showcases, literature corners, and curated F&B pop-ups, the event was more than a festival—it was a celebration of South Indian heritage in the heart of Delhi.

One of the most talked-about highlights was the 20+ dish traditional Onam Sadhya, where festival-goers relished classics served on banana leaves, sharing tables with friends, family, and strangers who quickly became part of the same story. With around 60–65% attendees from the South and a strong turnout from the North, South Side Story once again proved to be a cultural bridge, connecting people through flavours, art, and performance.

Amidst the buzz, Woodpecker’s vibrant zones became a natural meeting point—where guests paused between acts, cooled off with a refreshing sip, and let the rhythm of the festival sink in.

“South Side Story is all about culture, energy, and celebration—values that align perfectly with Woodpecker,” said Deepak Arora, Chief Executive Officer, SOM Group of Companies.
“Partnering with Red FM for this iconic festival was about more than just presence; it was about creating moments where people connect over culture and shared joy.”

With its spirited presence, Woodpecker didn’t just sponsor the event—it became part of the experience, weaving itself into a weekend of music, dance, and festive camaraderie.
