World Earth Day, April 22nd 2020 – Introducing Bisleri initiative – Bottles for Change
22nd April 2020 happens to be the World Earth Day.
Launched in 2018, Bisleri Bottles for Change aims to create awareness for a positive response from individuals with changed mindset(s) about plastic, recycling of plastic items and best practices towards a cleaner environment.
It works towards educating the citizens about the importance of recycling plastic in our lives. The idea is to ‘Be The Change, You Want To See.’
Since its inception, the programme has conducted:
- over 200 plastic recycling awareness and collection drives and workshops in Mumbai in corporate offices, housing societies, schools, colleges and other institutions, malls, festive & social gatherings, events, etc.
- With over 5000 Tonnes Of Plastic recycled
- The programme has reached out and successfully engaged over 15,00,000 Citizens
- 600 Housing Societies
- 150 Corporate
- 400 Hotels And Restaurants
- 200 Schools : 3,00,000 Number Of Students who have actively supported and joined the initiative
- They are also focusing on expanding to different cities of India.
The initiative has been receiving a tremendous response from the citizens and as a gesture of contributing to the society, the team has placed BENCHES MADE FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC at the prominent areas of Mumbai.
Aim
To educate citizens about the importance of recycling and
up-cycling plastic, they have made uniforms for their sales team from used PET bottles. These Shirts are crafted from threads derived entirely from recycled bottles. Across India, 5,000 employees are presently wearing these uniforms, upholding the vision of sustainability.
