Indian Mountaineer Twins Nungshi Tashi -Stars of the Show on Amazon Prime
After making over half dozen Guinness World Records in mountaineering and adventure, India’s ‘Everest Twins’ Nungshi-Tashi once again made the country proud. Last year they were selected among the toughest global adventurers for the prestigious race called ‘Eco Challenge Fiji 2019’. This is the first time any adventurer or team from South Asia and much of the developing world made entry into this event touted by many as the ‘Olympics of Adventure’. When asked their feelings before the race, the twins said ‘we have hoisted our ‘tri-color’ atop world’s highest and farther points, now to be the first to hoist it among the flags of 30 countries and 66 top teams of the world is huge honor!”
That race was hosted by Bear Grylls and is now ready to telecast on Amazon Prime video in epic 10 episode series. It will Premier on 14 August 2020. While the race outcome will only emerge during the show, it is learned that Nungshi Tashi will be the featured stars with maximum coverage of their courageous and incredible performance.
The twin sisters selected the team of five and named it ‘Khukuri Warriors’ and selected their team color as saffron.
On being asked their motivation for competing in the race Tashi quipped “We are competing particularly to re-assert that girls can do anything”. Leveraging their celebrity status and daring feats in a field considered ‘male domain’, the sisters have been campaigning for gender equality in India and abroad.
Acknowledging the twins global achievements, few years back Bear Grylls had blogged on them as his ‘heroes’ on his blogging site.
