A Touch of Couture

ELIE SAAB and H&M come together for a collection that brings the drama, detail and romance of the Lebanese fashion house to a much wider wardrobe

There are few things as instantly recognisable in fashion as an ELIE SAAB gown. Intricate embellishment, fluid silhouettes, a little sparkle and that unmistakable sense of occasion have long been part of the designer’s world. Now, those signatures are finding a new setting as the house joins H&M for a collection that brings its couture sensibility to a broader audience.

Set to launch in India on October 22, 2026, the collection moves beyond the expected red-carpet moment. Alongside embellished gowns and shimmering separates are sharply tailored pieces, footwear and accessories, creating a wardrobe that can travel from an evening out to something altogether more understated.

The details, naturally, are where the Saab vocabulary comes alive. Lace, gradient sequins and signature monograms add richness to the collection, while the silhouettes retain the polish and elegance associated with the house. It is glamorous, but the idea is not simply to dress for a grand occasion. The collection is designed to offer different ways into that world.

For a fashion house that began in Beirut with a focus on bridalwear before becoming synonymous with couture and red-carpet dressing, the collaboration marks an interesting new chapter. Elie Saab went on to establish a presence on the international couture stage, becoming one of the first international members of France’s prestigious Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. His work has since grown into a wider universe spanning couture, ready-to-wear and accessories.

That history remains visible in the new collection, but it is not treated as something untouchable.

“We are thrilled to announce this landmark collaboration with ELIE SAAB,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear. “Mr. Saab is a designer we have always respected — the journey from master of bridalwear in Beirut to the centre of Paris fashion is an amazing, rich story.”

For Saab, the appeal lies in opening that world to people who have admired his work from afar.

“This collection is created for all who admire the world of ELIE SAAB,” says Elie Saab, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer. He describes the process as collaborative and inspiring, with each piece created as part of a complete wardrobe designed to accompany different moments in a woman’s life.

And that is perhaps the most interesting part of the collection. It isn’t simply about taking a couture name and putting it on a high-street collaboration. It is about translating a very particular design language — the sparkle, the romance, the craftsmanship — into clothes that can become part of a much larger wardrobe.

For those who have followed ELIE SAAB for its dramatic gowns, this may be a different way of experiencing the house. The glamour is still there. It has simply been given more room to move.

The ELIE SAAB x H&M collection launches in India on October 22, 2026, in select H&M stores and online, bringing a little more couture into everyday fashion.
