Face Masks for Summer

By Shahnaz Husain

Summer is a season of vibrant colors, floral vibes, and cute dresses. However, it also brings irritation, sweating, itchiness, tanning, and other issues. During summer, it’s important to keep your skin cool, sweat-free, and fresh. One way to achieve this is by making face masks at home. By applying these masks on your face, your skin will remain cool and glowing.

Yoghurt and Aloe Vera Face Mask

Sun exposure can take away the glow from your face, leaving it looking dull. However, curd and aloe vera can help maintain your face’s freshness and coolness. Mix one spoon of curd and 3 spoons of aloe vera gel in a bowl. Apply the mixture on your face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse your face with water afterward and notice the difference.

Multani Mitti and Peppermint Face Mask

Mint has a cooling effect, while multani mitti removes excess oil from the face. By applying their mask on your face, you can relieve the burning sensation and keep your face cool. Mix 2 teaspoons of multani mitti and 1 teaspoon of powdered mint in a bowl. If needed, add a few drops of water, but make sure the mixture is not too thin. Apply the paste on your face and neck and leave it until it dries. Rinse your face with plain water.

Tomato and Honey Face Mask

Mix 1 medium-sized tomato (pulverized) and one spoon of honey in a bowl. Apply it on your face and leave it for 20 minutes before washing it off with water. Honey has antibacterial and antiseptic properties that are great for oily and acne-prone skin. Tomatoes, on the other hand, have anti-tanning properties. The mixture of these two ingredients is perfect for the face during summer.

Rose Water and Sandalwood

Sandalwood is an ancient remedy for facial irritation and pimples in summer. It also brings glow to the skin. Rose water removes excess oil and dirt from the face, hydrates the skin, and enhances the glow of the face. Mix 2 tablespoons of pure sandalwood powder with rose water to make a paste. Apply the paste onto your face to cool it and revive dull skin. After the paste dries, wash it off with plain water.

Watermelon and Yogurt

Watermelon contains Vitamins A and C, which are great for the face. It brings glow to the skin and keeps it hydrated. This is a good solution for oily skin. Mix grated watermelon and 1 teaspoon of curd in a bowl. Apply the mixture onto your face using a brush. You can also apply it on sunburned areas. Rinse your face with water after 15-20 minutes. This mask will provide relief to sunburned areas.
