Luna at The St. Regis Mumbai hosted Gemma Paterson, Global Brand Ambassador, The Balvenie

An evening of craft and storytelling by The Balvenie

Indigenous single malt Scotch whisky, inspiring storytelling and immersive conversations – The Balvenie along with The St. Regis Mumbai, hosted an evening at Luna dedicated to the celebration of oak, spirit and stories curated by Global Brand Ambassador Gemma Paterson who made her maiden visit to the country this week and was a true reflection of the one of a kind whisky.

Gemma brought with her stories of the rich heritage, expertise and passion of The Balvenie. The evening brought to life the five rare crafts associated with the making of The Balvenie through interesting stories that resonated with the centuries-old craftsmanship at the heart of single malt scotch whisky, celebrated as the most handcrafted of single malts with its own home-grown barley, malting floor, coppersmith, coopers, and, of course, the malt master, David Stewart.

The soiree was a close-knit affair attended by whisky enthusiasts, where Gemma narrated stories of The Balvenie expressions in collaboration with the tunes of the flute, painting a picture with words of events that occurred during the making of one of the world’s finest single malt whiskies. Guests were captivated by the tales and Gemma’s narration of the stories. They also had the opportunity to try the core range of The Balvenie expressions through a guided tasting led by her of the Balvenie Doublewood 12 YO, The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 YO and The Balvenie Doublewood 17 YO.

Elie Houbeich, Executive Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage, The St. Regis Mumbai said, “What a night at Luna!We believe curated experiences that encourage interactions with brand partners like The Balvenie ensure a more meaningful experience for our guests. We’re delighted to partner with The Balvenie and host Gemma Paterson’s first visit to India.”

Speaking about her experience, Gemma Paterson, Global Brand Ambassador, TheBalvenie said, “I’m thrilled to be visiting India for the first time. Indians have always loved their whiskies and I’m happy to have been able to bring The Balvenie’s story to the country. India is a culturally rich and diverse country; it was great getting a taste of the culture here. This visit allowed me to interact with an audience that shares a common love for the craft and The Balvenie’s various expressions. It was great to first-hand, be able to share stories from one of the few family-owned Speyside distilleries, and one of Scotland’s last truly handcrafted malt whiskies. I hope the guests cherished the occasion as much as I did. I look forward to coming back soon.”

Payal Nijhawan, Head of Marketing – William Grant and Sons said, “We are delighted to bring to life stories of The Balvenie from Scotland to India with our Global Brand Ambassador, Gemma Paterson. Evenings like these are the perfect starting point for connoisseurs who are keen to go on a journey of flavor exploration. The curation of the tunes of an Indian instrument and Gemma’s stories are the crafted collaborations for our discerning audience.”
